Season 4 of The Boys helmed by Eric Kripke started premiering on Prime Video on June 13, 2024. Before the latest season was released, the official The Boys page on X tweeted a picture of Firecracker and Sister Sage and captioned the post:
“And ya thought Homelander was a problem”
The Reddit community of The Boys took the opportunity to discuss whether these two characters can overpower Homelander.

To which several other users commented:
"This is probably how they'll justify Homelander not being knocked out for another season. The show's focus and that of the protagonists will become about defeating them. I'm guessing there is a good chance they knock one out and Homelander potentially kills the other on a separate ....of "Homelander v Boys" scenario for the next season," a user wrote.
"It’s going to be exactly this… I’m gonna get so frustrated that The Boys will view the other 2 as “bigger threats” than Homelander ( which I’m sure will take place during the finale) and completely screw up whatever their plan is to “defeat” Homelander so they can have another season ," another netizen commented.
"Maybe don't get frustrated over a single line from promotional advertising from a social media account. Ever thought of that? "Judging by the trailer, Sage is going to give Homelander a direction here. Perhaps feed more into his already bloated ego. Firecracker strikes me as the type of shake things up more than anything," another netizen commented.

Several other users, though, reckon there's no greater evil than Homelander and he's the greatest Baddie on the show. They commented on the same Reddit thread vouching for Homelander:

Who is Sister Sage and Fire Cracker in The Boys?
Firecracker is one of the antagonists in The Boys. When she was born, the Vought injected her with Compound V, making her a supe. Firecracker believes in the weirdest of things like the earth is flat.
Sister Sage, meanwhile, is the most intelligent person on the planet. Her brain regenerates, and in the recent season, she's the reason for Homelander winning the case against the public murder and turning the public against Starlight. Sage was picked by Homelander to join The Seven.
She has to get a lobotomy every time she feels like doing something carnal. When she gets (spoiler alert) shot in the brain by mother’s milk in episode 6, she acts like a kid till her brain regenerates.
In season 4 of The Boys, Firecracker is being treated as an outcast, as she's meant to represent and garner votes for homophobic and outright illiterate people in their version of America.
One of the worst things Firecracker does to get revenge on Starlight is she takes out Starlight's medical record and shows it on the news, which had some personal things that she has gone through in the past couple of months in the show, so people/Firecracker fans started hating her.
