The ending of The Chi season 6 left viewers in shock as Nuck (Cortez Smith) emerged as the major villain in place of gangster Douda. Fans had already expected Douda's death since the last few episodes released.

Alicia was waiting to exact revenge on Douda for killing Alonso. The season already saw several attempts on Douda's life, but the experienced gangster survived as he dished out bullets to whoever stood in his way. However, episode 16 saw him contemplate his death in the final moments, fearing that his enemies had come too close to him.

While it was Alicia who confronted Douda and pointed the gun toward him, he was ultimately shot by Nuck. In episode 15, Nuck had plans to take out Douda after the latter endangered Kiesha and his son, Ronnie, while trying to kill Emmett.

Nuck was also demoted by Douda after getting severely beaten down for engaging in side deals. His quest to take out Douda was further strengthened by the aforementioned incident.

His emergence to suddenly shoot Douda was completely unexpected, putting an end to the long-standing reign of Douda. Tensions were still high after he shot Douda as Alicia was visibly angry at him for sneaking up on them at the moment.

The season 6 finale of The Chi saw a major turning point for Nuck as he warned Alicia about opposing his plans. He asked her to join him or be his enemy. Alicia also stood her ground, saying that she would never join Nuck, teasing a new rivalry in the upcoming season.

As Nuck assumed Douda's position in the gang, Rob told him that he did not wish to be engaged in business with him anymore. This made Nuck angry and he shot Rob several times, which turned out to be one of the most unexpected twists in the season finale.

Later, Nuck tried to convince Bakari (Ahmad Ferguson) to join his gang, when he, Bakari, and Zay (Aaron Guy) were dumping Rob's body at the doorstep of his mother Alicia's townhouse. Alicia was horrified at the end of the episode when she found her son's dead body.

Nuck then visited his son, Ronnie, at Kiesha and Emmett's house. However, it was probably the last time he got to see his son because Emmett was aware of Nuck taking out Douda earlier, and he would not want him to be around Ronnie anymore. Nuck's change of character signals that he might assume a major role in the next installment.
