The Chi season 6 part 2 episode 14 recap: To whom does Alicia issue a warning? 

The Chi is one of the most acclaimed drama series on Showtime. The aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes has called it an "optimistic companion," praising how the series explores the intricacies of life in the South Side of Chicago.

The series, which premiered in August 2023, is in its sixth season. The Chi returned with the second part of season 6 on May 12, 2024. With the release of the 14th episode titled Smoke & Mirrors, season 6 is almost nearing its conclusion. The episode premiered on Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday, June 14, 2024.

The official synopsis of the episode as per Showtime reads:

"Jake does his best to distract a restless Victor; Alicia makes a deal and issues a warning; Papa takes center stage while Britney confides in Maisha and Jemma."

Episode 14 of The Chi series packs a lot of storylines with the major plotline being a heated exchange between Alicia (Lynn Whitfield) and Otis "Douda" Perry (Curtiss Cook), where the former threatens the latter. Additionally, tensions rise between Nuck (Cortez Smith) and Emmett (Jacob Latimore) over the parenting of baby Ronnie.

The Chi season 6 part 2 episode 14 recap: Alicia sends a warning message to Douda and other developments

The Chi is a rollercoaster of emotions and events as each episode packs intricate subplots. Episode 14 starts with Victor (Luke James) having some unpleasant dreams and tossing in his bed as he remains stressed due to his house arrest. His closest friend Jake (Michael V. Epps) suggests they throw a Halloween party at the house as it might help him ease the stress.

Things get heated when Tatiana, aka First Lady (Cereyna Jade Bougouneau), enters the party. Bakari (Ahmad Ferguson) and Papa (Shamon Brown Jr.) are amazed since they are irked by the fact she got together with Jake in previous episodes.

Papa makes his way to Pastor Zeke (Daniel J. Watts) to collect part of the earnings from a Church event. However, he also ends up saying that Zeke needs to beware of First Lady. During their conversation, Papa brings up First Lady, talking about the span of his marriage to her. Pastor Zeke gets visibly angry by the end of the conversation.

In other events, Douda and Professor Gardner (Kadeem Hardison) talk about Bakari. Douda requests that the professor let go of Bakari, using a tone of coercion. Tensions rise as the professor accuses Douda of keeping boys like Bakari to help him in his illicit activities. However, Douda's words have some influence as he later tells Bakari that they will have to put the book he was working on on hold. This makes Bakari realize that Douda might be behind it.

Tensions also rise between Emmet and Nuck. When Nuck shows up unannounced during a family moment between Emmett and Keisha, Emmett reprimands Nuck. However, Nuck asserts that he is Baby Ronnie's father and can come and go as he pleases. This leads to him joining Emmett, Keisha, and Ronnie for trick or treating, leading to an argument about properly raising Ronnie.

The Chi season 6 episode 14 ends with things taking a heated turn between Douda and Alicia when she visits him to talk about her son's failed attempt on his life. Douda even lays hands on Alicia when Rashad (Jason Weaver) appears from behind to warn Douda. The episode sees Alicia threatening Douda, telling him that even she has people at her disposal to thwart him.

In episode 14 of The Chi, Britney (Amari Ferguson) confesses to Maisha (Genesis Denise Hale) and Jemma (Judae'a Brow) that she is working for Douda, spying on her brother Bakari.
