The Day of the Jackal season 1 is a new thriller series releasing on Peacock for US audiences on November 14, 2024. The upcoming 10-episode show is a modern adaptation of author Frederick Forsyth's 1971 novel of the same name.

Plot summary for the upcoming show

The Day of the Jackal is set to follow a protagonist of the same name: Jackal. He's a lone and elusive assassin haunted by traumas of his past. He's followed by an intelligence agency officer to be put on arrest for his crimes and hits.

The many characters in this story will revolve around Jackal's grey work, either in his support and allyship for against him. A few storylines might even involve Jackal being hired to conduct a hit on some important figures.

Although the story is a modern retelling, it remains to be seen whether the series will follow the storyline of the book it's based on or add some tweaks and new plot dynamics of its own.
