The Diplomat season 2 will be released on Netflix on October 31, 2024. Unlike the previous season, the sequel will be comprising 6 episodes in total. While it is unusual why the series has reduced the episode count for season 2, it may indicate that this could be the series' final installment.

However, this is just speculation, as Netflix still has to confirm whether or not there will be a season 3 of The Diplomat. Netflix renewed the series on May 2023 for a second season, just a few days after the first season premiered. Eventually, the filming kicked off the next month with locations including London.
