The Legend of Vox Machina season 3: Full cast list explored

The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 premiered with its first three episodes on October 3, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video. The new season starts with Raishan conspiring with Vox Machina to bring down Thordak. As the three-episode premiere progresses, members of Vox Machina find themselves in one danger after the other as they try to retrieve a powerful plate.

The synopsis of The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 reads:

“Everything is at stake in the long-awaited Season 3 of The Legend of Vox Machina. The Chroma Conclave’s path of destruction spreads like wildfire while the Cinder King hunts down Vox Machina.”

It continues:

“Our lovable band of misfits must rise above inner (and outer) demons to try and save their loved ones, Tal’Dorei, and all of Exandria.”

1) Laura Bailey

Bailey voices Vex'ahlia "Vex" Vessar. A member of Vox Machina, Vex is a half-elf ranger. Her mother was killed by a dragon, and she, along with her twin brother Vax, was taken away from her home when she was young.

Bailey is a veteran voice actor, and she previously voiced Kid Trunks in the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball Z, Emily/Glitter Lucky in Glitter Force, Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket, Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, among others.

2) Liam O'Brien

Liam portrays Vax'ildan 'Vax' Vessar in the series. The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 opens with Vax furtively inspecting the lair of Thordak, where he finds a series of dragon eggs, proving Raishan’s theory correct.

Liam is known for playing such characters as Kenzo Tenma in Monster, Nephrite in Sailor Moon, Dan Moroboshi in Ultraman, Red Skull and Doctor Strange in Marvel Future Avengers.

3) Taliesin Jaffe

The character of Percival "Percy" Fredrickstein is portrayed by Jaffe. Percy plays an important role in The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 premiere, as it is he who confronts Anna Ripley when the latter is about to run away with the plate.

Jaffe is well known for lending voice to many video game characters. For example, he voiced Flash in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Simon Baz in Lego DC Super-Villains, and Highlord Darion Mograine in World of Warcraft: Legion, among others.

4) Ashley Johnson

Johnson plays Pike Trickfoot in the series. A member of Vox Machina, Trickfoot is a gnome cleric of the goddess Everlight. Trickfoot is known for her knack for violence.

Johnson is most famous for providing the voice and motion capture of Ellie in The Last of Us (2013), The Last of Us: Left Behind (2014), and The Last of Us Part II (2020). She has also starred in films like Much Ado About Nothing, When Marnie Was There, Punching Henry, and others.

5) Marisha Ray

Ray plays Keyleth of the Air Ashari. The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 shows the romantic tension between Vax and Keyleth. However, as the former suspects that a relationship between the two might endanger her future, the duo remains only partners at work for now.

Ray is famous for her voice acting in video games like Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona Q, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series, Metal Gear: Survive, and Fire Emblem Heroes, among others.

6) Matthew Mercer

Trinket the Bear is portrayed by Matthew Mercer. Trinket was found and rescued by Vex and Vax, and since then, Trinket has been Vex’s pet.

Mercer is a seasoned voice actor, having previously voiced Kanji Tatsumi in Persona 4: The Animation, Kiritsugu Emiya in Fate/Zero, Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan, and others.

7) Lance Reddick

Thordak is the principal antagonist in The Legend of Vox Machina season 3. A fierce fire-breathing red dragon, he is the leader of the Chroma Conclave. Season 3 begins with Raishan conspiring to bring him down.

Reddick, most famous for playing Charon in the John Wick franchise, passed away on March 17, 2023. About Reddick’s posthumous connection with the series, Sam Riegel, the executive producer and also the voice of Scanlan in the show, told RadioTimes.com the following on September 30, 2024:

"We've been in touch with his family, and his wife was very gracious and wanted to make sure his voice stayed in the show, and we were happy that it did and it could."
