A new Netflix three-part documentary, titled, The Manhattan Alien Abduction focuses on New York resident Linda Napolitano’s claims of being abducted by aliens in 1989.
The Manhattan Alien Abduction arrived on the streamer on October 30, 2024. To date, this controversial claim that the show covers has been the subject of many books, projects, movies, and more.
The possibility of alien life fuels the ongoing debate about UFOs and aliens. Linda Napolitano’s case also does the same.
The Manhattan Alien Abduction: Case breakdown
Case background
As shown in The Manhattan Alien Abduction, a woman named Linda Napolitano claimed that she was abducted by aliens in her bedroom in 1989. The abductee stated that she saw aliens in her room, standing beside her. She was stunned at that moment and could not speak. After this, the lights went off, and there was a complete blackout. Allegedly, a UFO was spotted outside Linda Napolitano's window, and she was floating in the air and was pulled into the UFO.
Witnesses of this event
There were a total of 23 witnesses that night who seconded Linda's story and recalled that what they saw in front of their eyes was surreal and unrealistic and that Amanda wasn’t lying about the abduction.
American Ufologist Budd Hopkins handled this case and investigated it
Budd Hopkins, a ufologist, took a keen interest in Linda Napolitano's case and learned about it from scratch. He believed her story and also the story of several eyewitnesses. Budd used hypnosis on the abductees, who had no memory of what had happened to them when they got abducted.
When the hypnosis sessions took place, it was tracked that most witnesses had a horrific experience and did not like what the hypnosis reminded them, as their memory came back.
The nose bleed
As revealed in The Manhattan Alien Abduction, apparently many of the abductees, who went through something similar to Linda Napolitano, shared their scarring memory and revealed that the aliens abducted them and put something similar to a rod inside their nose. Many suspected that the aliens did this to place an implant on humans to track and experiment on them, however, nothing was proved.
An alleged abductee on the show described this incident as:
"He is doing something in my nose. The first thing they did was grab something from above, like a wand silver stick that had something at the end of it. And they inserted that in my nostril, and I heard a crunch."
As per Linda Napolitano, one night she saw herself, her two sons and her husband having a nosebleed at the same time, in the middle of the night, which made her speculate that the aliens might have abducted her entire family.
Over the years, Linda Napolitano claimed that she was abducted a couple of times by aliens so that they could experiment on her.
Final thoughts
Linda Napolitano’s case is one of the most controversial UFO sighting and abduction cases to date. The presence of 23 eyewitnesses makes the case even more complex.
The case of aliens will remain subject to interpretation and speculation until a strong connection is discovered between us and them, or until there is a major discovery.
The Manhattan Alien Abduction is now streaming on Netflix.
