John Budd Hopkins was an American artist and ufologist best known for his work on alien abductions. He was born in 1931 and used to make abstract art for a living before he started looking into UFOs and alien contact. He started working in this area when he started talking to people who said that they had been abducted by aliens.

Over time, Hopkins became more and more interested in this phenomenon. He eventually became one of the most important people in researching and documenting claims of abduction.

Budd Hopkins is key in The Manhattan Alien Abduction, and the investigator first revealed Linda Napolitano's story. Hopkins did hypnotic regression to help Linda remember her abduction. Linda claimed to have been levitated into a spaceship, and witnesses saw her. The case became famous for Hopkins' involvement in the alien abduction.

Details of Budd Hopkins and his career

Budd Hopkins had been in a lot of different jobs. He first became famous as an artist, but his interest in things that happened in space led him to a different path. Hopkins began to study alien abductions in the 1970s.

He used hypnotic regression to uncover details from Linda Napolitano's alleged alien abduction in 1989. Under hypnosis, Linda described levitating into a spaceship, and 23 witnesses claimed that they saw her in the air, adding credibility to her story. Two federal agents, Richard and Dan, later appeared at Linda's home, claiming that they had also witnessed the event.

These agents worked for Perez de Cuellar, the then UN Secretary-General, who reportedly saw the abduction too. Linda’s story gained widespread media attention, and an X-ray revealed a strange object in her nose, which Hopkins believed to be an alien tracker, further supporting her claims.

Hopkins thought that many of these abductions were real, and he spent a lot of his life trying to figure them out. He wrote a number of books on the subject, like Missing Time and Intruders, which both talked about alien abduction cases he had looked into. He became known as a serious ufology researcher through his work, even though many don't believe in the subject.

Hopkins' connection to The Manhattan Alien Abduction

Budd Hopkins is a major character in The Manhattan Alien Abduction who helps look into Linda's claims.

He looked into her case in great detail before anyone else, and his methods, like hypnotic regression, were very helpful in revealing parts of her story. Hopkins' work on this case, which is still one of the most debated in UFO history, shows how much he wanted to find out about alien abductions.

The documentary also looks into concerns with Linda's claims. Budd's wife at the time, Carol Rainey, questioned Linda's story and said that some of the evidence might have been made up. These questions cast a shadow over the case, but Hopkins was sure that Linda's experience was real because of the proof and witness statements he had gathered.

The Manhattan Alien Abduction shows Budd Hopkins' dedication to understanding alien abductions, as shown in his work on the Linda Napolitano case. Hopkins' research on alien abductions is important regardless of one's beliefs.
