When will The Office Australia be released?

Mark your calendars for October 18, 2024 when all eight episodes of The Office Australia will be available on Prime Video. The series offers a new take on the classic office mockumentary and invites audiences Down Under to join in the office antics from the comfort of their homes.

Cast and the characters they play

The Office Australia will bring new actors to the show, with Felicity Ward leading as Hannah Howard, the managing director with a knack for crafting outlandish schemes to save her branch.

Known for her standout roles in Time Bandits and Wakefield, Ward is set to bring a unique flavor to the legacy of office bosses, being the first female lead among all The Office shows.

Joining Ward is Edith Poor, who was last seen in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Poor brings a depth to the team and makes sure the office dynamics are as engaging as they are unpredictable. Comedian Steen Raskopoulos, who is known for his quick wit in The Duchess, promises to deliver plenty of laughs and memorable moments.

Shari Sebbens, who dazzled audiences in Thor: Love and Thunder, steps into the office as another key player bringing her strong screen presence to the fore. The cast also features Josh Thomson, a familiar face from How to Please a Woman, who has a comedic timing, which should resonate with fans of the genre.

Zoe Terakes, admired for their role in Nine Perfect Strangers and Jonny Brugh, who is known from the cult favorite What We Do in the Shadows, round out the main roster.

The series also boasts an array of guest stars, including Susie Youssef from Deadloch and Justin Rosniak of Last King of the Cross, who are set to appear in cameos that spice up the series’ dynamic plot.

What is The Office Australia about?

In The Office Australia, the plot centers around Hannah Howard, played by Felicity Ward, who faces the daunting challenge of keeping her branch afloat amidst corporate upheavals.

As the managing director of Flinley Craddick, a packaging company, Hannah is hit with the bombshell news that her branch is set to close and all employees must transition to working from home.

Thrown into survival mode, Hannah is determined not to let her team scatter to the winds. She devises a series of creative and often hilarious strategies aimed at keeping her work family united. Despite her good intentions, her schemes usually end up causing more chaos than cohesion.

Her efforts to meet the impossible targets set by the head office creates another layer of comedy and tension, which makes the episodes a blend of humor and slight desperation.

The staff at Flinley Craddick find themselves indulging Hannah’s whims, with each episode making a new story of office camaraderie tested by bizarre team-building exercises and motivational tactics that go awry.

From misguided attempts at boosting morale to going through the intricacies of remote work technology, the show captures the essence of office life turned on its head.
