The Old Man Season 2 Episode 3 was released on Thursday, September 19, 2024. With a cold ending, the double-header debut not only caught the audience under a sense of unease but also elevated the excitement by promising more action-packed episodes ahead. So far in the sequel, Dan and Harold have made their way into Afghanistan, but unfortunately rescuing Emily was not an easy task.
On the other hand, after discovering her true origin, with the major revelation of her being Faraz’s biological daughter, Emily was left deeply conflicted. The premier ended with Hamzad coincidentally running into Dan and Harold, pointing his gun toward his greatest nemesis, a gripping cliffhanger that left viewers on the edge of their seats.

This scene indeed left the audience puzzled about the fate of Dan Chase, but unfolded next turned out to be a shocking twist that all expectations. Dan was saved by Harold, who shot Hamzad instantly after he saw him pointing his gun. While none of the main characters died, fate wasn’t that graceful to the new antagonist.
Is Omar dead in The Old Man Season 2 Episode 3?
Omar tried his best to intimidate Hamzad’s family and his village, but he wasn’t going to get away from the reckoning that awaited him. While Khadija had Omar surrounded by her armed men, she didn’t have any trick under her sleeve and simply stalled the man until some miracle occurred.
Surprisingly Khadija’s son, Tarik, came in a helicopter, posing as a man sent by The Ministry to halt the fight brewing between the two factions. Although he did a fantastic job of averting the danger, Omar was still fixated on why Hamzad kidnapped an FBI agent discretely and wasn’t willing to let others know.
While preparing to leave, Omar tried to get information on the strange guest through Farouk, Faruza’s son. The kid, fully aware of the danger he was in and mature enough to know what to keep a secret, struck Omar and tried to flee but was quickly caught. This led Faruza to run towards her child to save him, but unfortunately, she died.
With guns blazing hot between Omar’s men and the village, Hamzad appeared out of the blue, tagged alongside Emily, who decided to show herself. It was Emily who stabbed her knife into Omar’s head, right after revealing herself as Parwana Hamzad.
After all of Omar’s men were killed, thanks to Harold, Omar was still alive, crawling away as if he could make it out alive. Emily, who was shocked by the death of Faruza and the village that was attacked because of her presence, found Omar and killed him by shooting the back of his head twice.

The Old Man Season 2 Episode 3: Who is Tarik?
As mentioned above, Tarik is the son of Khadija and the nephew of Hamzad. As of now, there are not enough details about the new character, but given the events that transpired in The Old Man Season 2 Episode 3, he is connected to everything that has been going on since the first season.
Tarik was working for Morgan Boote and was involved in the deal to deliver Dan Chase, which he unveiled to his mother. However, after the kidnapping of Parwana/Emily, one of the FBI agents, Boote froze all of their assets, putting them in a completely tight spot.
As the story progresses, Tarik will play a prominent role in what comes next for Dan Chase..in the series, the role of Tarik is portrayed by Amir Malaklou, who is known for appearing in many acclaimed titles, including Evil, The Endgame, and Viper Club.

The Old Man Season 2 Episode 3: Why Emily helped Hamzad?
While there’s no definite reason behind Emily lending a helping hand to Hamzad, given the latter was her biological father she couldn’t just stand while he surrendered himself to Omar. Over the course of her stay, Emily realized that there was no ill intent behind Hamzad, and he saw her more as a daughter than an FBI agent.
While heading towards his village, Hamzad told Emily that it was not her fight to be involved and simply bid her goodbyes, parting his way from his daughter whom he met after 30 years. Emily followed her gut feeling and arrived at the village, embracing her true identity as Parwana Hamzad.
The Old Man Season 2 Episode 3 ended with Emily standing still looking at the village after killing Omar, a scene that symbolized the heavy burden of her choice and the irreversible shift in her identity.
