A brief recap of The Old Man season 2 episode 3
The Old Man season 2 episode 3 kicked off with Harold saving Dan by shooting Hamzad, which eventually caused Emily to rush inside the cave and find all three of them. Despite Hamzad’s request to leave him behind, Emily wanted to escort him safely back home before leaving the country alongside Dan and Harold.
Back in Hamzad’s village, Omar arrives with his men, demanding Hamzad’s presence, but Khadija’s men surround him. Suddenly, someone in a helicopter arrived with a bag full of cash meant for Omar.
The man claimed to have been sent from the Ministry to deal with the brewing conflict and assured Omar that his actions would have consequences. It eventually turned out that he was Khadija’s son, Tarik, who revealed that Morgan Botes froze their assets for kidnapping Emily/Parwana.
Omar, who was making some calls outside while leaving the premises, encountered Faruza’s son, Farouk, and tried to lean through him whether the rumor of Hamzad holding an FBI agent was true.
Farouk was tight-lipped and tried to flee after striking on Omar’s face, which led Faruza to run towards him. Unfortunately, Faruza was killed by Omar’s men, which caused both parties to open fire. The four arrived at the rendezvous point elsewhere, but Emily still wanted to help Hamzad.
After Hamzad left, Emily followed him to the village, and there she encountered Omar, whom she struck with her knife after revealing herself as Parwana Hamzad. Although Omar had the upper hand with numbers, Harold’s request for assistance arrived in time, turning the tides of the fight with an attack helicopter. In the end, Emily killed Omar by shooting on his back.
What to expect from The Old Man season 2 episode 4? (speculative)
Given the teaser, The Old Man season 2 may see Dan returning to the U.S. to find answers, and there’s no perfect start other than reconnecting with Morgan Botes, a father figure to Harold and him. Also, Hamzad will likely confront Dan for the 30-year-old betrayal, which didn’t happen in the latest installment. Dan also gets to have a little heart-to-heart conversation with Emily about the truth.
