The Old Man season 2 is all set to arrive on FX on Thursday, September 12, 2024. The sequel is slated for an 8-episode run, offering one additional episode compared to the previous season, providing an extended opportunity for the show's fans to immerse themselves in the unfolding story.

Given the events that occurred during the filming of the first season where the main lead, Jeff Bridges, was diagnosed with lymphoma, the future of the series was uncertain for a time. However, after Bridges' successful recovery, production resumed, not only allowing the first season to wrap up but also planning and executing the sequel.

The Old Man plot summary

Dan Chase absconded from the CIA and lives off the grid. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. The FBI's Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive.

When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well.
