Both episodes of the double-header premiere ended with Faraz Hamzad shooting Dan Chase. However, it is yet to be confirmed if he actually hit his target or just fired a warning shot, leaving viewers in suspense about Dan’s fate.

Given the amount of hatred he holds for Dan, it is very unlikely that Hamzad would kill him just like that without an actual confrontation. For 30 years, Hamzad harbored enmity toward Dan, who helped Belour escape Afghanistan with their daughter.

This long span of time plays a significant role in the tension and animosity between the two characters. The first two episodes were just to set the stage for the narrative, gradually unweaving the central conflict and preparing viewers for the twists and turns that lie ahead.

Fans eagerly waiting for these two characters' ultimate confrontation have to wait until the third episode’s release, which will deliver the long-awaited answers. Building on the momentum, The Old Man season 2 premiere has successfully kicked off by setting the tone for what promises to be an intense and gripping continuation of the thriller drama.

Dan and Harper’s entry into Afghanistan didn’t go as smoothly as they had hoped, having encountered an unexpected obstacle in the form of Omar, who proved to be a significant roadblock. Despite Dan and Harper managing to escape from Omar, the threat is far from over, and the former will likely have to confront him again in the future.

After learning from Khadija that her real name is Parwana and she is the daughter of Faraz Hamzad, Emily reacted as if it were a joke. However, after witnessing a video of her childhood shown to her, where she was playing with Hamzad, in which Dan was also present, Emily was heartbroken.

With tears rolling down her eyes, it became challenging for her to reconcile this revelation with her existence. Despite finding out the truth, Emily was still struggling to accept it. After meeting Hamzad in person, she just wanted to know what her biological father felt about his wife, to which he didn’t have any answers.

The father and daughter had an intense skirmish where they almost killed each other before they ultimately stopped. While Emily reflected on the profound and unexpected truth of their intertwined fates, Hamzad couldn’t stop himself from crying.

Later, Emily met the rest of the family members, including her cousins, in a heartfelt yet unanticipated reunion that marked the beginning of her journey to understand and connect with her newly discovered relatives.

While initially appearing as an ally to the resistance fighters in The Old Man season 2 premiere, Omar, played by Artur Zai Barrera, was revealed to be a Taliban spy. At the beginning of the premiere, where Dan and Harper almost lost hope, Omar appeared as a last resort who could help them retrieve Emily.

However, eventually, when Omar tried to figure out how well Dan and the FBI agent fit in the scenario and the link to Hamzad, it made his intentions crystal clear and which side he was on. Omar even recalled the ‘Baba-khorkhore’ story, which confirmed the fact that he did his homework on the infamous Dan Chase very well.

The lithium deposit has caught Omar’s eye due to its strategic value and its impact on the local power dynamics, which he strongly wants to strip away from Hamzad. With Omar asserting his dominance with his men in Hamzad’s village, the fate of the latter’s family and people hangs in the balance.
