The Penguin episode 1 recap
Recouping from the events of Carmine Falcone's death, the family appoints his son Alberto as the leader. However, when he disrespects Oswald after revealing his plan to revolutionize the drug business, Cobb shoots him and tries to dispose of his body. That's when he meets Victor Aguilar who Cobb takes under his wing and makes him his enforcer after seeing him trying to steal rims off his car.
The episode then introduces Sofia Falcone who has suspicions that Oswald was involved in the disappearance of Alberto and starts seeking him out. At the same time, Cobb meets with Sal Maroni in the prison and reveals to him Alberto's idea. But Sal doesn't believe Cobb and dismisses him - that's before Cobb ends up giving him the Falcone family ring which leaves Maroni shocked.
Sofia eventually ends up getting her hands on Cobb and tries torturing him to get an answer, but Oswald lies and tries to maintain that he still has loyalty towards the Falcone family. Just at that moment, a car crashes on the Falcone estate with Alberto's body in it leaving Sofia scarred.
It's later revealed that Cobb and Victor had planned this earlier, and the episode ends with the titular villain setting his eyes on the incoming drug shipment.
