The Penguin episode 6, titled Gold Summit, premiered on HBO and Max on October 27, 2024. The episode sees Oswald Cobb begin his Bliss operation alongside Victor Aguilar beneath Gotham, while upstairs Sofia Falcone and Sal Maroni are out looking for him.
A lot goes down in the sixth episode of the series, but most importantly, it ends on a cliffhanger, setting up next week's outing.

The big point in The Penguin episode 6 is Oswald trying to get the crime families on his side. While he is successful in doing so, trust in him still remains low as they know he has betrayed everyone he has ever worked with.

Aside from that, the episode also focuses on Oswald's relationship with his mother who gives him an ultimatum to kill her if her health gets worse.
The episode also sees Victor get his first kill and how that affects him, as well as Sofia discovering that Oswald's mother is alive. With her knowing that now, there are definitely going to be major implications going forward.
What happens in The Penguin episode 6?
Oswald's bliss operation is booming
The Penguin episode 6 begins with Oswald's Bliss operation moving along successfully as he has set up shop in the abandoned underground railroads of Gotham. However, Sofia and Sal, on the other hand, plan on getting revenge on him and are aware of his Bliss operation as well.
So, to send a message to Oswald, they have three of his supplier's men killed so that the Triads wouldn't work with him.
This ultimately throws a wrench in Oswald's business who also recognises that his mother's health is getting poorer. His mother then makes him promise that if she completely loses her mind, then Oswald will have to kill her, and he reluctantly agrees to do so.
However, he then diverts his attention to getting power to Crown Point and is successful in doing so when he blackmails a councilman.
In episode 6 of Penguin, Victor also gets his first kill. When Squid pressures Victor to take him to Oswald, Victor initially dismisses his claim by saying that Oswald isn't looking to add any more people to his operation.
However, Victor tells him that he will give away Oswald's location to Sofia Falcone then, and this causes Victor to shoot him which leaves him in shock as it was his first time killing someone.
How does Oswald get the crime families on his side again?
After Sofia and Sal initially ruin his operation, Oswald then decides to improvise and come up with a new plan in The Penguin episode 6. However, no one wants to work with him for fear of Sofia Falcone and Sal Maroni taking out more of their workers.
With the Triads also having pulled out of the business, Oswald then decides to just give away the Bliss for free to whoever wants it.
Why does he do this? Well, it's simple, he wants to create more demand for the product so that people will know there is money to be made with it. This leads to the remaining families knocking on Oswald's door and asking why is he selling his product in their area.
He Oswald then sets up a meeting with all the families to discuss future prospects.
At the meeting, while trust in Oswald remains low among the families, Oswald is eventually able to bring them on his side. He does this by talking about how the Gigantes and Maronis don't really care about them and how they would be better off working with those who they hate.
He then proposes a toast to take back Gotham with all the families on his side agreeing to take part in his operation.
How does Sofia find Oswald's mother?
Ruining Oswald's operation isn't where Sofia and Sal stop in The Penguin episode 6. They then decide to hit him where it hurts and try finding someone close to him.
While Sofia thinks that Oswald's mom has died, she discovers where his girlfriend Eve Karlo lives and seeks her out.
During their meeting, Eve is scared of Sofia as she is still under the assumption that she is the Hangman. She then tells Sofia that she can kill her, but that she should leave her girls alone.
However, Sofia then tells Eve that she isn't the Hangman and it was actually her father Carmine Falcone who committed all those crimes and Oswald helped him cover it all up in the past.
Shocked by this revelation, Eve gives up Oswald's location by saying that he is hiding in Crown Point. Sofia then makes her way there with a Crowbar only to find the house that they are living in.
The Penguin episode 6 then ends with her staring down Victor and Oswald's mother Francis as they dance, but it's not revealed whether she does kill them or not.
What can fans expect from episode 7?
The Penguin episode 6 sets up the penultimate episode of the show. With Sofia having found out that Oswald did indeed lie about his mother to her as well, she will certainly have some major hatred towards him. However, given how The Penguin episode 6 ends, fans can see that she is shocked by this revelation too.
Maybe episode 7 of the show will see Sofia having conflicted feelings about going ahead and killing Oswald's mother. However, this also gives Sofia leverage on Oswald as he cares about nothing more in the world than his mother. If Sofia has Oswald's mother in custody with her, this will bring the Penguin straight to her.
Aside from that, fans can also get to see Oswald try and make his way up the crime ladder of Gotham in the final two episodes of the series. With his Bliss operation successful, he will definitely have some major power in the city.
