What to expect from season 2?
The first season of the supernatural thriller series followed the crew members aboard the oil rig Kinloch Bravo. Stranded in the North Sea, the Scottish rig was engulfed in an enigmatic fog that prevented them from making contact with the outside world.
As the show unfolded, the crew members began experiencing strange events, such as tremors and electrical faults. Gradually, they realized that they were faced with an ancient supernatural force that would test them to their limits.
The Rig season 2 will follow a similar premise, featuring a group of people confronting another supernatural force, but this time it will happen in the distant Arctic Circle. The Deadline report dated October 25, 2024, provides the following synopsis for season 2:
"The series begins with helicopters taking the surviving crew of the Kinloch Bravo to a new secret offshore facility called the Stac, nestled deep in the extraordinary and deadly landscapes of the Arctic Circle."
The synopsis further states that the trapped crew will have to “deal with the emotional and physical fallout” from the tsunami that destroyed the Bravo in season 1. Along with heinous supernatural forces, they will also have to tackle “swirling conspiracies” and “corporate conflicts.”
