What to expect from The Rings of Power season 2 episode 5?
Episode 4 introduces a new character in the series - Tom Bombadil. The Stranger, wandering around in Rhûn in search of Poppy and Nori, comes across Bombadil. The enigmatic and amusing encounter between the Stranger and Bombadil reveals some crucial information.
For instance, it is divulged in episode 4 through Bombadil that the Stranger would one day be able to wield magic, though he is not ready at the moment. This is a significant exposition given the fact that the Stranger is none other than Gandalf. The upcoming episode might show more of Tom Bombadil.
Elsewhere, the elves are busy protecting the rings. Episode 4 shows Galadriel and Elrond trying to get in touch with Celebrimbor. However, their quest comes to an end when an orc-army approaches.
Episode 4 ends with a cliffhanger, as Galadriel rampages through the orc-army, the closing shot of the episode shows the arrival of Adar. The next episode might pick up from here.
Further, key characters like Sauron and Celebrimbor are missing from action in episode 4. Episode 3 shows that they are making new rings, using the Mithril obtained from the dwarves.
