Starz's The Serpent Queen is a historical drama series directed by Justin Haythe. Based on the non-fiction book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France by Leonie Frieda, the series follows the story of a 14-year-old girl called Catherine de' Medici, married into the French Valois court.Starring Samantha Morton, the series saw the premiere of season 2 in July and has to date seen the release of four episodes.
