The Serpent Queen is an American-historical drama that revolves around the true story of Catherine de' Medici, the queen of France in the 16th century. An Italian noblewoman of the Medici family, Catherine, at the age of 14, was married into the French Valois court and was able to win the throne due to her political endeavours.

While Samantha Morton joins in as the leading star, the series itself is based on Leonie Frieda’s Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France, a non-fiction book. The Serpent Queen recently saw the premiere of its Season 2, earlier in August, and stars a range of familiar faces in addition to Morton.

2) Amrita Acharia as Aabis

The actress is of Nepali-Ukrainian heritage and can speak multiple languages. She was raied in Ukraine, Kathmandu, and England, and has previously been seen in a variety of foreign roles via her work.
Acharia is seen taking up the role of a Romanian woman, Aabis, in The Serpent Queen, and is one of Catherine’s biggest allies. She has been an integral political player on the show and is expected to continue playing an important role in the series.
3) Enzo Cilenti as Cosimo Ruggeri
Enzo Cilenti is the third most notable face seen in The Serpent Queen. The actor is already famous for his work in projects such as 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and 2016’s Free Fire. He has also been a part of Game of Thrones and The Martian.
In The Serpent Queen, Enzo Cilenti takes on the role of Cosimo Ruggeri, a fortune teller who Catherine brings along with herself from Italy, to her new home in France. He is also a major ally of the Queen, and has been a part of the show right from Season 1.
