The Spiderwick Chronicles: Full list of cast in the reboot

Following the 2008 live-adaptation film, The Spiderwick Chronicles gained new life in The Roku Channel's television series. The series premiered on April 19, 2024, with a cast consisting of Lyon Daniels, Noah Cottrell, and Christian Slater, among others.

Contrary to the original film, the children in the reboot have been aged up to teenagers. Additionally, the Grace family members have been race-bent to represent African-Americans. While fans were eager to watch the new series, it received negative reviews upon its release.

The official synopsis of 2024's The Spiderwick Chronicles reads:

"Helen and her children, 15-year-old fraternal twins Jared and Simon and their sister Mallory move to their ancestral home, Spiderwick. Jared discovers a boggart and realizes that magical creatures are real! The only one to believe him is his great-aunt Lucinda who implores Jared to find the pages of her father’s field guide to magical creatures and protect them from the murderous Ogre, Mulgarath."

The show is based on the fantasy book series written by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black.

The other twin, Simon, is played by Noah Cottrell. In contrast to Jared, Simon is thoughtful and caring with a deep love for animals. In the 2008 film, the roles of both Jared and Simon were played by Freddie Highmore in a double role. Cottrell's recent works include Gordita Chronicles and Punky Brewster.

Model-turned-actress Joy Bryant plays the single mother of three teenagers in The Spiderwick Chronicles series. Her character in the show, Helen, takes her children and moves from New York to their ancestral home, Spiderwick. Mary-Louise Parker played Helen in the 2008 film.

The oldest Grace sibling, Mallory, is portrayed by Mychala Lee. The character in the show is described as smart, driven, and determined, but the divorce of her parents deeply affects her. Golden Globe winner Christian Slater stars in The Spiderwick Chronicles reboot as Mulgarath, a shapeshifting ogre. Shazam! actor Jack Dylan Grazer appears in the show as Thimbletack, a boggart who resides in the walls of the Spiderwick Estate.
