As mentioned earlier, Gianluca Bombardone was a loved Italian producer and camera operator in the film industry. An Italian regional daily, L'Unione Sarda, confirmed that Gianluca lost his life while shooting for a film in the village of Stintino in Italy. He died of a cardiac arrest on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
He reportedly felt ill during a break and two doctors on set helped him. He fell to the ground after getting unconscious. Though the doctors tried to give him first aid and the 118 health workers tried to revive him for nearly an hour, nothing worked. He was declared dead following the incident.
Gianluca Bombardone was also known as Bomba within the film fraternity and was recognized for his creativity, especially in historical films, shows, and documentaries. He worked in series like The Great (2020), Medici (2016), and action comedy movies like Lift (2024).
He had started filming in the city of Alghero along with the coast of Le Saline and was planning to shoot further on an island called Asinara. But before he could shoot anything else, he passed away due to a heart attack. He was survived by his wife, Marika Mattiello, and two children.
