Nicole Eggert, known for her portrayal of lifeguard Summer Quinn on Baywatch, recently reflected on her time filming the iconic series in an interview with Fox News Digital released on December 30, 2024.

Eggert, now 52, revealed that although the show was glamorous and well-known, working on Baywatch sometimes meant hard conditions.

“The cold days, the freezing ocean, and battling hypothermia—those were really hard moments,” she recalled with a laugh.

Her candid remarks shed light on the stark contrast between the sunny, glamorous image of the show and the physical challenges endured by its cast and crew.

The expression captures Eggert’s struggles during the show’s production. Filming often required her and her co-stars to brave icy waters, relentless rain, and long hours, leaving them questioning their choices. Despite these challenges, she acknowledged the unique experience of working on a show that became a global sensation.

Nicole Eggert was a member of a renowned ensemble that contributed to the cultural phenomenon of Baywatch from 1992 to 1994. The series, which is renowned for its beachside camaraderie and dramatic rescues, was primarily filmed at Will Rogers State Beach in Santa Monica.

Nevertheless, the idyllic setting was accompanied by demanding schedules and challenging conditions that put the cast's fortitude to the test.

During the interview, Nicole Eggert shared insights into the difficulties of balancing celebrity life in the ’90s. She noted that the era’s challenges were different from today’s social media-driven culture. Eggert also discussed her personal struggle with Stage 2 breast cancer and the help her Baywatch co-stars provided during her treatment.

Eggert stated:

“I spent so many years just scared and holding things in. You don’t have to do that”.

The actress also contemplated the advice she would offer her younger self.

"I would tell my younger self to not be so scared of life — to just really go out and enjoy things more. You got nothing to lose. Go live life, you know? It feels so good to face the darkness and bring that darkness into light and just enjoy yourself. It's not that serious.”

Eggert stated in an interview with People magazine that her cancer battle has been inspired by her responsibility to raise her 12-year-old daughter Keegan and her work on the docuseries.

She added:

"Having a young daughter and having this project has been a great motivation for me to not just sit and think about my health and my wellbeing. It’s giving me purpose, it’s keeping me driven every day. I think the timing of life is always for a reason. It’s been a great distraction, and my daughters kept me on my toes."
