What we know about the plot of Time Bandits from the trailer
The trailer for the upcoming Apple TV+ series gives a glimpse into the life of Kevin, who is shown to be a young history geek. He is occupied with ancient lores and is shown to be sculpting numerous historical figures, before accidentally stumbling upon a time travel portal in his wardrobe.
The trailer also introduces an eccentric group of time-traveling bandits led by Lisa Kudrow's Penelope. She explains to Kevin how his room is a "time egress" which allows them to travel across the universe. The trailer is full of witty moments that highlight the upcoming series's tone. The time bandits venture out across prominent timelines in history (much to the fascination of Kevin). They will go on to witness the creation of Stonehenge, the rampages during the Medieval era, ancient civilization, the Harlem Renaissance, and even try and steal the famous Trojan Horse.
However, evil forces lurk around the corner as they have their eyes on Penelope's map which can take the bandits through exact periods in time. They plan to use the map and alter history to establish the dominance of pure evil in the Universe.
The series is created by Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris, and Taika Waititi.
Stay tuned for the release of Time Bandits on Apple TV+ on July 24, 2024.
