Today's episode will see contestants Josh Moss, Gino Montoya, and Colleen Matthews playing against each other to head on to the next phase of the game.

Jeopardy! is an American television game show which was created by Merv Griffin in 1964. Unlike traditional quiz competitions, here we see a reversal of the traditional question-and-answer format. Instead of having to answer given questions, contestants are provided with general knowledge clues in the form of answers.

Their task is to identify the person, place, thing, or idea that the clue indicates or hints at. The final answer to the game must be phrased in the form of a question.

Jeopardy! final solution: Wednesday, January 1, 2025

The solution to today's Jeopardy! is as follows:

Solution: Who is Ulysses S. Grant?

Ulysses Grant was born in Ohio. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1843 and went on to become the 18th president of the United States. Grant's tenure was from 1869 to 1877, and in 1865, he was the commanding general. He is reputed to have led the Union Army to victory in the American Civil War.

One of the most widely known myths about Grant is that he regularly smoked 20 cigars a day. It is also claimed that he first smoked at West Point. Eventually, Grant was compelled to give up his smoking habit due to a terminal illness.

While it is true that he was a heavy smoker and liked his cigar, it is practically impossible to smoke 20 cigars a day on a regular basis. He later developed oral cancer and passed away due to his smoking and drinking habits.
