In Tracker season 2, episode 8, Alicia, mourning her brother Lucas's supposed death in a car accident, hired Colter Shaw to look into her suspicion after a man who looked like Lucas visited their mother in the hospital.

Determined to find the truth, Colter and Bobby started investigating Lucas's past connections, beginning with the computer repair shop where Lucas worked before he disappeared.

Their investigation showed that Lucas pretended to be dead. The surveillance video proved that Lucas sneaked into his office to get proof related to Tim Crosby, a candidate for mayor with secrets. Lucas’s role in uncovering a political scandal made him a target. A YouTuber who worked with Lucas on this story was killed, making it even more important for Lucas to stay hidden.

Colter’s findings led him to Barbie, a woman who helped individuals escape dangerous situations by fabricating new identities and even faking deaths. Together, they planned a second fake death for Lucas, which fooled his enemies. Ultimately, Lucas reunited with Alicia and their mother, bringing them peace and showing how far he went to protect himself and his family.

Tracker season 2, episode 8: Colter confronts a dirty cop

As Colter investigated further in Tracker season 2 episode 8, he met a corrupt police officer, Detective Jolie Jenkins, who was secretly helping Tim Crosby. Colter initially suspected Jenkins’s involvement when she provided access to security footage but later noticed inconsistencies in her actions. His suspicion grew when Barbie’s husband was killed after Lucas’s location was leaked.

Colter and Bobby came up with a plan to confirm Jenkins' betrayal. They staged Lucas’s death a second time, knowing Jenkins would attempt to cover up for Crosby. After Jenkins declared Lucas's death and made a secretive phone call to Crosby, Bobby recorded the conversation, obtaining undeniable evidence of her corruption.

In a final confrontation, Colter exposed Jenkins’s secret partnership with Crosby, resulting in Jenkins’s arrest. This also showed Crosby's huge network and set the stage for Colter’s unstoppable quest for justice.

Barbie, amazed by Colter’s abilities, offered him a job in her covert organization. Although he turned down the offer, their teamwork showed Colter’s skill in outsmarting even the most powerful enemies.

Tracker season 2, episode 8: New leads on Gina Pickett's case

Episode 8 ended with a major twist in the Gina Pickett case, a cold case that has troubled Colter. Retired officer Keaton reached out to Colter with new details from a suspect named Alex, who said Gina was tricked into going to a farm owned by Frank Whales. This farm, controlled by a mysterious person called “Teacher,” was believed to be involved in illegal activities or possibly a cult.

Colter discovered that Frank Whales, someone they've been looking into since the start of the season, might have played a big role in Gina's disappearance. Alex's statement about "Teacher planting things" made the situation even more confusing, especially when it was linked to the bag of dirt Colter found with Whales earlier.

This new information made Colter wonder if Gina joined this secret group on her own or if she was forced to do so. Camille, Gina's sister, talked about her difficulty in moving on, which added emotional weight to Colter’s investigation. As Tracker season 2 episode 8 ended, the question of Gina’s fate loomed large, setting up a tense narrative arc for the rest of the season.
