Just before reaching the halfway mark in its run, Tulsa King season 2 has added yet another intriguing character to the plot. Episode 4 of the series was released on Paramount+ on October 6, 2024, and it gives ample screen time to Jackie Ming.
Jackie was seen in the previous episodes of Tulsa King season 2 but it is in episode 4 that viewers get a proper understanding of the character. So far, he has been seen only as one of Cal Thresher’s business associates, but the latest episode shows him to be a menacing gangster who has ambitions of his own.
The synopsis of episode 4, titled Heroes and Villains, reads:
“Dwight and Bodhi explore a new investment opportunity; Thresher learns how far he can push certain people.”

The latest episode shows the aftermath of the foiled murder attempt on Dwight, orchestrated by Bill Bevilaqua and Chickie. It also shows Dwight’s nascent business plan taking some shape.
Tulsa King season 2 episode 4 ending: Jackie Ming might be the next baddie in Tulsa
In episode 2 of season 2 of Tulsa King, Dwight “The General” Manfredi is seen reading a newspaper that carries a report about the growing influence of the Chinese underworld in Tulsa. Jackie Ming might be linked with the Chinese underworld, as the ending of the episode suggests.
Towards the beginning of episode 4, Cal is seen instructing Jackie to stop the production of heroin on his marijuana farm. A seemingly obedient Jackie complies. However, towards the end of the episode, a different Jackie emerges.
As Cal comes to visit his farm, he demands that Jackie hand over a portion of his heroin-profit as punishment for his conducting the business on Cal’s farm without informing him. A little later, Jackie comes across a person who was caught stealing heroin from the farm.
Jackie brutally shoots the man dead in front of Cal. As if this were not enough to send a message, he menacingly tells Cal:
“This is what happens when my hand is forced. No one takes money from my pocket. The poppy stays.”
This confidence to openly defy Cal can only be attributed to Jackie’s links with the Chinese underworld. Will Cal try to reconcile with Jackie and use him to strengthen his forces against Dwight or will he try to eliminate Jackie as well? Apart from the rivalry already established, Tulsa King season 2 now has to explore this fresh rivalry as well.
Bill Bevilaqua is displeased
The ending of episode 3 shows the dead body of Carl Caputo blocking Bill’s driveway. Carl was sent by Bill and Chickie to murder Dwight but Goodie’s betrayal of Chickie at the last minute prevented it. Instead, Carl’s corpse was packed and sent to Bill as a message.
In episode 4 of Tulsa King season 2, Bill is naturally upset. He phones Chickie and vents his frustration. Chickie, however, points out that it was Goodie because of whom the well-planned attempt was unsuccessful.
When Bill phones Chickie a while later, the call is answered by Vince Antonacci, Chickie’s close associate. Vince expresses his desire to work with Bill, and says that he would get in touch with Bill through ‘proper channels’ later. The upcoming episodes of Tulsa King season 2 might see the two teaming up against Dwight.
Dwight is undeterred despite the murder attempt
Episode 4 of Tulsa King season 2 begins with a tired Dwight ambling toward his bedroom for a much-needed sleep. When confronted by Joanne, his sister who wants to know why he looks so desolate, Dwight confesses that he has just survived an attempt on his life.
Later in the episode, along with Bodhi, Tyson, and Keller, Dwight sets off for Galena where he wants to buy a wind farm in order to get the government’s subsidy on energy. Dwight plans to use the energy to produce marijuana instead.
The owner of the farm, a Native American, wants twenty percent of the energy to be utilized for the benefit of the Native American community. Dwight has no problem with it. But when the owner’s son wants twenty percent of the profit as well, the General is displeased.
However, it is revealed that Cal has also forwarded an offer to buy the farm. To eliminate Cal’s chances of acquiring it, Dwight agrees to both the terms and buys the place. Thus, Tulsa King season 2 episode 4 amplifies the antagonism between Dwight and Cal.
