Tulsa King season 2 episode 9 ending explained: What happens to Jackie Ming in the end?

Jackie Ming has been one of the most intriguing characters in Tulsa King season 2. He started the season merely as one of Cal Thresher’s associates. As the series progressed, however, the diabolical sides of his character became clear.

It was Ming, for instance, who had asked his men to plant the bomb in Dwight’s Navigator, a move that almost killed Tyson’s father. Further, in episode 8 of Tulsa King season 2, he drove Thresher out of his business by forcing him at gunpoint to transfer all his properties to him for a meager amount.

In the latest episode of the series, released on November 10, 2024, on Paramount+, Jackie Ming gets his comeuppance. With a penitent Manny’s help, Dwight manages to lure Ming into Margaret’s ranch. Tyson kills him with an ax and his body is buried in the stable of Margaret’s farm.

Tulsa King season 2 episode 9 ending: Ming meets his end

Episode 9 begins with the Native American community of Tulsa holding a funeral for Jimmy. In the previous episode, the latter was shot by Bevilaqua’s men. Bevilaqua and the General have been at war for some time now.

However, Thresher informs both parties that it was Ming who orchestrated the car-bombing that Dwight fortunately missed, and which set a whole chain of violence into motion. Telling Margaret that Ming now intends to come after her farm, 49 percent of which is Thresher’s, he gets Dwight to have a talk with Bevilaqua.

Thus, for the first time in Tulsa King season 2, the triad of Dwight, Bevilaqua, and Thresher meet and discuss business. Bevilaqua wants the bad blood between Dwight and himself to be resolved since it was Ming who started it all and would get the maximum benefit if they kept hurting each other.

Dwight takes Manny’s help to lure Ming into Margaret's farm at night. There, the Chinese mafia man’s gang is ambushed by Dwight and Bevilaqua’s men. After that, Ming is tied up. Dwight hands Tyson the ax that was given to him by the leaders of the Native American community so that it could be used to avenge Jimmy’s killing.

Telling Tyson that Ming is the man responsible for his father’s near-death accident, Dwight asks Tyson to kill him. Tyson is initially hesitant but eventually drives the ax into Ming’s skull, killing him instantly.

What does Manny do in the latest episode?

In episode 8 of Tulsa King season 2, Manny robbed Dwight’s money by holding Goodie at gunpoint. That done, he set out to escape from Tulsa, However, episode 9 shows that his fear for the General overpowers him and he turns back.

He approaches Ming with an offer: he would show the latter the easiest way to get to Dwight and in return, Ming would have to kill the General. Manny takes Ming to Margaret’s farm at night, telling him that that is when Dwight would be most vulnerable.

However, the episode contains a twist. A flashback shows that Manny actually approached Dwight first, asking him to punish him for his missteps. Dwight, however, gives Manny a chance to make things right. As a result, Manny tricks Ming into stepping right into the trap laid by Dwight.

What is Chickie up to?

In the previous episode of Tulsa King season 2, New York’s mafia bosses ousted Chickie from the leadership position. In episode 9, Vince calls him and asks him to bring the General back into the mafia fold. This would ensure Chickie’s re-entry into the organization.

However, Chickie has other plans. He wants to kill Dwight and capture Tulsa. To that effect, he leaves for Tulsa by the end of the episode. The next episode might show the showdown between the two. Given that Thresher, Dwight, and Bevilaqua have some sort of understanding between them now, Chickie might have a difficult time in Tulsa.
