The Netflix original comedy series Unstable season 2 will be released on the streaming platform on August 1, 2024. The series stars Rob Lowe as Ellis Dragon and his son, John Owen Love, as Ellis' son, Jackson Dragon.
Unstable follows Ellis Dragon, the founder of a biotech firm, named Dragon Industries, who is going through a mental spiral after his wife's death. The series also follows Ellis and Jackson's relationship as the latter works with his father and tries to help him with his issues.
At the end of season one, Ellis found himself in hot water after he supposedly blew up his friend-turned-rival Jean's (Christina Chang) car. He is also seen preparing for a potential stint in prison in Unstable season 2.

Unstable Season 2 will expand on the dynamic between Ellis and Jackson Dragon
Unstable season 2 will show the father-son relationship between Ellis and Jackson in a new light. It will also focus on Jackson as he eagerly tries to succeed his father and begin his vision of the company. However, his father's eccentricities would pretty much ensure that anything could happen during his search for the new CEO of Dragon Industries.
Season 2 also introduces Peter (Lamorne Morris), a start-up founder who quickly makes a strong impression on Ellis and the board of Dragon Industries. This makes him a prominent rival to Jackson's bid to become the next CEO.
Iris Apatow, as Georgia, is another addition to the cast. Georgia is the step-daughter of Anna (Sian Clifford), the company's CFO. After she is roped into being an intern for Dragon Industries, Georgia forms a rivalry with her stepmother and makes it her mission to annoy Anna as much as possible.
Leslie (Fred Armisen), Ellis' live-in therapist, will also return to the show. In the Unstable season 2 trailer, he notes that he has been with Ellis for around 3800 billable hours.

Unstable season 2 will pick up right where Unstable season 1, which aired in March 2023, left off. The second season is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 1, 2024.
