Based on Robyn Carr's novels, the show follows nurse practitioner and midwife Melinda "Mel" Monroe, who moves to a small town in Northern California from Los Angeles. The show has Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel and Martin Henderson as Jack in the lead roles.
