Season 1 of the CBS series Watson premiered on January 26, 2025, immediately following the AFC Championship Game, marking the network’s latest attempt to modernize Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary stories. The show will air weekly at 9 pm ET, starting February 16, and will stream on Paramount+ the day after broadcast.

Created by Craig Sweeny, known for his work on Elementary, the show reimagines Dr. John Watson’s life after the apparent death of Sherlock Holmes, blending medical drama with detective elements.

The first season consists of 13 episodes, with the pilot directed by Larry Teng, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Morris Chestnut.

The series follows Dr. John Watson, played by Chestnut, as he relocates to Pittsburgh and opens the Holmes Clinic, named in honor of his late partner.

Specializing in bizarre and undiagnosed medical conditions, Watson’s team tackles challenging cases while he confronts lingering grief and a resurfacing threat from his past: Moriarty.

The show also delves into Watson’s recovery from a traumatic brain injury sustained during Holmes’ final moments.

Filmed primarily in Vancouver with additional scenes in Pittsburgh, Watson features a score by Paul Leonard-Morgan.

Its worldwide debut occurred at MIPCOM Cannes in October 2024, building anticipation for its official CBS release.
