We Are Lady Parts is coming back with a bang for a second season after the unprecedented success of the pilot season in 2021. The comedy series created by Nida Manzoor follows the story of a five-member all-female Muslim punk rock band in the UK.

A brief recap of We Are Lady Parts season 1
Season 1 saw Amina Hussain oscillating between her PhD in microbiology and embracing her role as the lead guitarist of an all-women Muslim punk rock band.
Although Amina wants to keep her two lives separate, she eventually gets fully involved in the band. Season 1 introduced characters like Saira (Sarah Kameela Impey), Bisma (Faith Omole), and Ayesha (Juliette Motamed) among others.
The first season was hilarious as it blended various cultural influences, showcased the struggles of an up-and-coming band, and subtly talked about breaking societal expectations of women. The first season witnessed Amina slowly embrace her new bandmates and the final episode saw her almost quit the band. However, Amina had a change of heart and joined her band for a spectacular performance.

Season 2 of the series is expected to be full of energy and showcase the band's journey as they embrace their newfound success. As per the trailer, the band is ready to enter their "villain era." The official logline of the upcoming season reads:
"Series two sees the band return with a renewed artistic mission after the high of their first UK tour, only to find a rival band threatening their delicate status quo. But as the reality of chasing success sets in, Lady Parts embarks on recording their first album, juggling personal ambitions and questioning whether making it big is really what they want…"
Along with Anjana Vasan, Sarah Kameela Impey reprises her role as Saira, Juliette Motamed as Ayesha, Faith Omole as Bisma, Lucie Shorthouse as Momtaz, Aiysha Hart as Noor, and Zaqi Ismail as Ahsan among others.
The second season will feature an incredible guest cast as Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai will make a cameo appearance on the series. Additionally, Meera Syal will also be joining the season as a guest star.
