Bailey Sharp was stabbed numerous times on July 12, 2016, by her lover Jared Bischoff, following which she died. Similar methods were used to kill Justin Hilbert, who passed away on June 21, 2016. In addition, he was shot dead, repeatedly stabbed, and beaten.
Bailey's boyfriend and killer Jared Bischoff's ex-wife was Justin Hilbert's fiance, at the time of Justin's murder.
Dateline season 33, episode 2 on NBC titled Wrong Turns will focus on these complicated and one unsolved homicide. The episode will air on October 4, 2024, at 9 pm EST on NBC and the next day on Peacock. It will include interviews with the victim's accomplices and family, for a better insight on the homicides. Bailey Sharp was stabbed multiple times by Jared Bischoff
Bailey Sharp was found lying in a pool of blood on July 12, 2016. She was stabbed six times and left to die. The 911 first attenders rushed her to the hospital, however, she could not make it out alive because of extreme blood loss.
The police arrested Bailey’s boyfriend Jared Bischoff after a successful car chase from San Diego to Riverside, for the murder of Bailey. Several other charges were also present against him. Jared Bischoff did not plead guilty the first time, however, when the authorities scanned his home, they found 22 knives and even shotgun shells, which linked him to the crime.
Reportedly, there were texts between Bailey Sharp and Jared, suggesting their relationship was not healthy. After the trial, Jared was sentenced to life without parole for the murder of Bailey Sharp.
Justin Hilbert was also stabbed multiple times
As per reports by CBS, Justin Hilbert was murdered on June 21, 2016. He was stabbed, shot, and later beaten to death. To date, Justin’s killer has not been found.
No evidence was recovered from the scene, leaving the investigation incomplete. However, after authorities found that Justin’s fiance was Tonya Bischoff whose ex-husband was arrested for the murder of Bailey Sharp, days after Justin’s murder, Bischoff became a suspect in the Justin Hilbert case as well. Knives and shotgun shells were also found in Jared’s home earlier.
When CBS asked Tonya if Jared could have killed Justin, she said,
"It does raise some questions and red flags. But at this time, the police have told us that there's no connection."
Allegedly, Jared had a history of violence, because of which Tonya separated from him. Tonya, who was heartbroken after the murder, also said to CBS,
"Everybody loved him (Justin). I can't imagine who would have so much hatred to do something like that," she said. "It's heartbreaking. He's only six months old. He's never going to know his father. I want answers. I want to know who could have done this..."
