What happened to Butch Casey, Sharon Anderson, and Marie Rogers? Details explored ahead of The Real CSI: Miami

Casimir Sucharski, aka Butch Casey, Sharon Anderson, and Marie Rogers were killed on June 26, 1994, in Casey’s Florida residence, as previously shown in The Miramar Murders: The State Vs. Pablo Ibar. Officers found them beaten to death and shot in Casey's residence in Miramar, Florida.

With zero-to-no evidence, the detectives on this triple homicide found it extremely difficult to crack nitially, until they found CCTV footage, which showed them the assassins entering Casey’s home and killing him and his guests for the night.

Season 1 episode 9 of The Real CSI: Miami which will air on August 28, 2024, at 10 pm EST is going to examine and throw light on the murders of Butch Casey, Sharon Anderson, and Marie Rogers. The episode is titled S*x, Murder, and Videotape. The official synopsis of the same reads:

Butch Casey, Sharon Anderson, and Marie Rogers were murdered brutally by 2 men

As per reports, on the day of the murder, Sharon and Marie had visited Casey’s Nickelodeon, a popular drinking spot for the Miramar residents. After their time at the nightclub, they went to Casey’s home later that night.

The next day, when Sharon and Marie did not make it home, Sharon’s mother filed a missing report, which led a Mirimar police officer to visit Casey's bar. The officer then went to Casey’s residence and found Butch Casey, Sharon Anderson, and Marie Rogers dead. The victims had bruise marks all over their bodies and were covered in blood. There were signs of a possible break-in.

Casey’s car was missing. During their investigation, the detectives found video surveillance camera in the house which included 22 minutes of CCTV footage of the murders. They also found a blue torn shirt and a bloody shoe print.

What did autopsy reports and the CCTV footage reveal?

As per reports, the autopsy report revealed that the victims were beaten brutally and shot to death. The CCTV footage played a major role in the investigation as it showed two men enter Casey’s residence around 7:18 am on June 26.

One of them had his face covered with a T-shirt, while the other man was wearing sunglasses and a cap. The man with the T-shirt beat Casey and then shot all three victims in the head with a Tec 9, as the CCTV footage revealed. The other man shot the two girls in the back.

Before leaving, the man with the T-shirt removed the garment and used it to wipe sweat. In doing so, he revealed his face to the hidden camera, which was enough for the investigators to prepare photographs and identify the suspects.

Based on the video evidence gathered from the crime scene, the police arrested Alex Hernandez, Alberto Rincon, and Pablo Ibar. Other than Ibar, the two other suspects were later cleared. On August 5, 1994, Seth Penalver was also taken into custody for the triple homicide of Butch Casey, Sharon Anderson, and Marie Rogers.

As per reports, after a hung jury in 1998, Seth and Pablo were convicted for the triple homicide and were sentenced to death in 2000. However, in 2012, in a retrial, Seth was cleared as there was no evidence to charge him with three murders.

Pablo Ibar, on the other hand, was convicted of the three murders as his DNA matched with the one found on the t-shirt at the crime scene. As per reports, on January 19, 2019, the jury found Ibar guilty of the triple homicide. He was sentenced to life, with zero chances of parole.
