Jason Johnson was last seen in September 2012. He was known to the community of Tempe, Arizona, for his family values and service to the community. The sudden disappearance of Jason caused an instant concern for his whereabouts.

As the investigation began, it revealed a cold-blooded betrayal by his business partner, Chad Norris, and Chad's wife, Tamara. Feuds Turned Fatal: Body Shop of Horrors by Investigation Discovery features this tragic case.

It will be on the air on November 27, 2024, at 10:00 PM ET/PT, unearthing circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Johnson, the evidence leading to the arrest of the Norrises and a long search for justice.

Jason Johnson's disappearance caused alarm

Jason Johnson, the co-owner of Scottsdale Auto Collision Center, has been missing since September 14, 2012. The 45-year-old was a committed family man and very involved with giving back to his community. Even the day after his disappearance was scheduled to volunteer for a routine activity for a Sheriff's Office.

When Jason Johnson did not show up for meetings and failed to attend any get-togethers, the people close to him sensed something was amiss. It was on September 17, three days since his last sighting that his family filed a missing report about him. The police traced Johnson's black Toyota Camry parked outside his auto shop.

Still, he was nowhere to be seen and neither his bank account nor phone records had shown any activity since he was missing.

Conflict at work and a deadly argument

When the investigators began their search, they learned that Johnson argued with his business partner, Chad Norris, on the day he disappeared. Though they do not know exactly what the argument was about, employees speculated it might be related to ongoing renovations at the shop. Suspicion soon turned to Norris and his wife, Tamara, when they refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Police soon began to surveil the couple and found disturbing evidence. The Norrises were seen abandoning a trailer in a Phoenix parking lot after making several suspicious stops. After conducting searches in the trailer, cadaver dogs indicated to the investigators that there might have been foul play.

In the trailer, they found blood stains, bullet casings, and Johnson's driver's license. Searches conducted in the Norris home uncovered a firearm that matched the caliber of the bullet casings. Authorities concluded that Johnson had been killed allegedly during the argument and his body was disposed of with Tamara's assistance.

Chad and Tamara Norris behind bars

Chad and Tamara Norris were arrested on September 19, 2012. Chad was accused of second-degree murder, on September 28. Tamara was accused of hindering prosecution. However, Jason Johnson's body has never been found.

In May 2015, Chad stood trial. Emotional testimonies from Jason Johnson's family, including his sister, Ericka Weistrich, who expressed her pain over the loss and lack of closure, were heard in the courtroom. "I can't even bury him," she told the court. Johnson's daughter, overcome with emotion, called Norris's actions "disgusting."

Chad Norris maintained his silence during the entire trial, being convicted of second-degree murder and was sentenced to spend 18 years in jail. Tamara, Chad's wife, who pleaded guilty to covering up, received less time.

The case is incomplete since Chad Norris was convicted, but still, no body of Jason Johnson had ever been found. Therefore, his family has not been able to bury him properly.

About this, during the My 2015 hearing Judge Joseph Kreamer said, "There is nothing I can do to bring your dad back." The sentence is to be served for the full 18 years with credit for the two years he had spent in custody at that time. Chad is serving his sentence at Arizona State Prison Complex – Yuma and will be eligible for release in 2030.

The Feuds Turned Fatal episode Body Shop of Horrors provides audiences with an all-inclusive telling of the tragic murder of Jason Johnson. By interviewing the families as well as law enforcement and other legal experts, the series shows how events could have unfolded for the tragedy of Johnson's murder to be achieved.
