Kenni Finol, a resident of Venezuela, was tortured and murdered in 2017 in Mexico. Her body was later discovered in an alley in Mexico. As portrayed in Caught on the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas, she was her mother's favorite kid and the most cheerful of the children, so her death devastated the family.
Kenni Finol worked for the Zona Divas website after she arrived in Mexico and was among the top models listed on the site. She wanted to help her mother, so she found peace in her job and sent money back home to support her family. However, in 2018, a few days before she could make it back home, she was killed in cold blood.
Netflix's new true-crime docu-series, titled Caught on the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas, aired on September 5 and depicts the grim reality that the website's models and escorts had to participate in. The official synopsis of the four-part docuseries reads as follows:
"In Mexico City's dark underbelly, women seeking better lives become entangled in an online escort network, unaware it will lead to a series of femicides."

Kenni Finol was first r*ped, then beaten, and later suffocated to death
Kenni Finol was found in a dilapidated and horrific state in February 2017. Her head was in a plastic bag, and it was hard to recognize her face because of the acid that was used on her after her death.
As per forensics, she died because of suffocation. The autopsy also revealed that she was r*ped and also beaten severely as there were major wounds on her body. As shown in Caught in the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas, Kenni’s sister spoke to her last on the night before she was murdered. Kenni had informed her sister that she would be going to a party before she went missing. In the docu-series, her sister said,
"I got a bad feeling about a party she (Kenni Finol) said she said she had been invited to …I told her not to go … God bless you was my last text to her … She texted back amen and heart emoji … That was the last …”
When Kenni failed to respond to texts or glance at any of the messages given to her, her family became alarmed and wanted to know what had happened to her. According to the show, Kenni was set to return home shortly before her death. Her sister's husband received a call from Mexico, which made the family aware of Kenni's death.
Kenni Finol was in an unhealthy relationship
The true-crime documentary series reveals how Kenni left behind evidence that exposed her unhealthy relationship with El Pozoles on the internet. Kenni owned two phones, and her phone held all the evidence required, including voice notes, videos, and texts. Kenni's family and friends believe that she was killed by El Pozoles, who has not been charged in relation to her death.
Previously, El Pozoles hurt her physically, verbally, and psychologically. A few clips from Kenni's documentation of the bruises on her face and other body parts can be seen in Caught in the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas.
After El Pozoles and Kenni Finol started dating, Kenni distanced herself from her own family, which broke her mother's heart as she would not call her often like before. When her sister enquired about why she behaved this way, Kenni revealed to her sister the dark truth about her dating life. Kenni's sister said on Caught in the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas that,
"He (her boyfriend) is a hit man …. The Prince Charming she knew turned into a demon overnight."
Kenni even revealed to her friend Machi, that her boyfriend wanted a piece of her body so that she could prove her love to him and Kenni gave her one of her toes. Her boyfriend even tied her up at times. Finally, when Kenni decided to leave Pozoles, her boyfriend did not like her decision to leave.
Kenni Finol came back to El Pozoles for the last time before they could officially get done with their relationship, which she had informed her family about. Pozoles held her captive and cut off all her hair as revealed on Caught in the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas. He slashed her hand and even tried to hurt her, which again Kenni documented.
As revealed by Kenni's sister on the show, Kenni couldn’t leave Mexico earlier and go home as her passport had expired and she also did not have money for a flight ticket, however, this time she was all set to come home, but, she never made it back as she was killed right before.
The last correspondence Kenni had was with her sister when she informed her about attending a party. This was the last known information about Kenni before she went missing and her body was later discovered in an alley.
Kenni Finol still hasn't received justice to date. Even though El Pozoles and his girlfriend were detained in Mexico in 2023, it was due to drug trafficking and violence in several areas of Mexico City. Although there is supposed evidence to link him to both Karen Grodzinski's and Kenni Finol's deaths, he is reportedly incarcerated and has not yet received a sentence even for drug trafficking and violence.
Caught in the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas is now streaming on Netflix.
