Before the episode covers Michelle Kitterman's death in detail, let us go over what happened to the 25-year-old woman.

Who was Michelle Kitterman and what happened to her?

Hailing from Richland, Michelle Kitterman was a 25-year-old woman who had recently moved to Okanogan County, Washington, where she met Danny Pavek.

Born on May 12, 1983, Michelle Kitterman was a bright and promising young woman who lived in her hometown till her teens and then moved to Virginia and then to Maryland. In Virginia, she gave birth to her first son, Nathan Lee Cliff. She was known for her chirpy personality and infectious laughter.

However, things gradually changed for the young woman once she moved to Okanogan County. There she met Danny Pavek and allegedly began an affair with him. She also got pregnant with his child. As per records, she was also deep into drug usage, especially meth, by this point in her life.

On March 1, 2009, Kitterman's dead body was found in a driveway in the Pine Creek area south of Tonasket. Preliminary reports revealed that the cause of death was homicidal violence. She was allegedly beaten and stabbed to death before being dumped on the road. She was 11 weeks pregnant at that time. The brutality of the death shocked the quaint neighborhood where she lived.

As investigations began, the authorities could soon link the murder to the pregnancy and the affair that preceded it. The upcoming episode of Fatal Affairs will dive deeper into the affair aspect of the murder.

Who killed Michelle Kitterman?

As investigations revealed, Kitterman was murdered in a murder-for-hire scheme, where Danny Pavek's wife, Lacey Hirst-Pavek, 36 years old at the time, hired a Spokane drug dealer and two of her subordinates to murder Michelle Kitterman. The meth dealer, Tansy Mathis, and the two other accused, David E. Richards and Brent Phillips, were also charged and eventually sentenced.

Lacey Hirst-Pavek was charged with first-degree premeditated murder and first-degree manslaughter of an unborn quick child. As per the state's maximum sentence for this crime, Hirst-Pavek was sent to prison for life without parole. She continues to remain there as of now.
