Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers for What If...? season 3 episode 2.

The episode featured Agatha Harkness gaining the powers of a Celestial and rising to cosmic heights. In a moment of weakness, it seemed as though she would turn on Kingo and not care about the outcome of the world, true to her flighty nature.

However, Kingo managed to talk her down, making her realize that she did not need to see her powers constantly to make a mark on the world. At the end of episode 2, Agatha reaches a steady camaraderie with the Eternals.

The episode began with an introduction to a Celestial at the core of the Earth, named Tiamut. The notorious witch Agatha Harkness wanted to siphon Tiamut's power for herself and found an excellent cover as an actress in the Hollywood film industry to carry out her plans.

Working with Howard Stark as a producer-director and Edwin Jarvis as assistant director, Agatha took up the role of a Galactic Queen in one of Stark's films. Using the grand sets to her advantage, Agatha painted runes on them and used her powers under the guise of special effects.

However, the witch needed a steadier power source to give her the final push to drain Tiamut. She nudged Howard about getting a co-star for the film, who could act as a foil. The two narrowed down on the Bollywood star (and Eternal) Kingo.

Upon being cast in the film, Kingo accompanied Howard Stark and Jarvis to the set and was finally introduced to Agatha. During the shoot, the two went into a frenzied choreographed dance face-off for the camera but also discussed their motives with the other during the sequence.

Kingo danced to Bollywood rhythms similar to blockbuster numbers in mainstream Indian movies. On the other hand, Agatha leaned into her showmanship, with tap dancing and Cabaret-esque costumes. During their dance battle, it was revealed that Agatha had kept the other Eternals prisoner after draining their powers, and Kingo actually came on set to stop her.

Agatha explained her reasoning behind it, telling Kingo that she needed the Celestial Tiamut's powers to halt the cosmic event of the Emergence and save the world from imminent destruction. She also told him that she needed Kingo's powers temporarily so that she could face the Celestial at her full might.

Kingo realized he was expected to betray Arishem, another Celestial, to aid Agatha's plan. Though initially reluctant, he agreed to help Agatha after extracting a promise from her: that she would free the imprisoned Eternals and get him a three-film contract with Howard Stark and his production company.

Agatha and Kingo divulged their true identities to an amused Howard Stark and a stunned Jarvis, explaining their plan ahead. They decided to use the Griffith Observatory to shoot the third act of the film's finale while using the shoot as a decoy to siphon Tiamut's powers.

Agatha and Jarvis painted runes on the set, and she then started taking over Kingo's powers. Meanwhile, the Celestial Arishem sensed the happenings and started making his way down to Earth to oppose Agatha. Before Arishem could reach, Agatha drained Tiamut's powers and became a Celestial herself.

This was followed by a prolonged battle between Agatha and Arishem, a struggle for power and control over the other. Agatha managed to use her spell runes to bind Arisham and drain his powers too, making her a stronger Celestial. The moment where Agatha used the runes in the sky against her opponent was very reminiscent of a similar scene in the finale of WandaVision, where Wanda came into her own as the Scarlet Witch and countered Agatha's schemes.

The end of the episode nearly featured a double cross, as Agatha readied herself to betray Kingo and remain uncaring about the world's fate. However, he convinced her to stay by his side and join him as an actor in films, using that as a medium to gain the love and adoration she had been craving all her life.

At the end of the episode, Agatha and Kingo reached a truce, and it was even mentioned that she let the other Eternals go free after restoring their power. It was hinted that Agatha and Kingo continued to fight side by side, in the face of other Celestials probably attacking after the fall of Arishem.
