Wiccan is a fictional superhero in Marvel Comics, who is the reincarcerated son of Scarlet Witch and her husband Vision. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wiccan and his twin brother Speed were created when Wanda manifested an alternative reality for herself after the death of Vision.
Agatha All Along, the spin-off series continues with the aftermath of Wanda Vision. Released on September 18, 2024, the series revolves primarily around Agatha Harkness as the titular character. At the beginning of the series, the viewers are introduced to a Goth lover, a Teen character who can't reveal his true identity because of a Sigil. The Teen helps Agatha break out of the Scarlett Witch's spell and identify her true self.
Agatha and the Teen form a coven to embark on a journey to The Witch's Road and make their wish come true. In episode 5, titled Darkest Hour/Wake Thy Power, Agatha accidentally kills Alice while being possessed. The Teen confesses that he has had enough.
After Agatha mocks him, saying he is just like her mother, he furiously reveals his true powers. He possesses Lilia and Jen and makes them drag Agatha into the drowning mud. The Teen blasts the possessed bodies, and a magical headwear appears on his head, signaling that he is Wiccan, the son of Scarlett Witch.
Wiccan possesses reality manipulation and magical abilities similar to his mother, Wanda Maximoff, allowing him to control energy, cast spells, and alter the fabric of reality.
What are the powers of Wiccan?
As per the comics, Wiccan possesses reality-warping abilities just like his mother. He can also manipulate and write completely new realities as per his will, making him one of the most powerful sorcerers. He can create and alter objects, control the elements of power and ice, and temper the laws of nature.
Wiccan's Telekinesis ability allows him to levitate in the air and teleport over long distances while also reading and manipulating human bodies and minds. Just like Doctor Strange, he is also a very powerful sorcerer who, with his full strength, can open portals to entirely new dimensions.
He can take his consciousness outside of his body and also take control over others. In certain comic storylines, he is professed to become the Demiurge, a cosmic being with nearly Omnipotent Powers.
What is Wiccan's role in Marvel Comics?
The character of Wiccan was first introduced in the first issue of Young Avengers in April 2005. The character was created by comic book writer Allan Heinberg and artist Jim Cheug. He is a crucial part of the Young Avengers team and was appointed by Iron Lad. Known as Billy Maximoff, he also has a twin brother named Tommy (also known as Speed).
As per the storyline, Wiccan goes in pursuit of his mother, which is exactly what the Teen does in Agatha All Along. It is highly likely that if Billy manages to reach the end of The Witch's Road, his wish would be to bring his mother, Wanda Maximoff, back to life.
Agatha's way of mocking Billy, at the end of episode 5, saying he's just like her mother, alludes to the similarity between him and Scarlett Witch. Both of them possess exceptional magical capabilities but are always on the verge of flipping towards the darker side. Billy blasting the heads of Lilia and Jen showcases a glimpse of his powers.
All the episodes of the Agatha All Along are available to stream on Disney Plus.
