The series is a spinoff of the original Citadel, which starred Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in the lead. This new series introduces the audience to Diana, an undercover agent who has a vendetta against a syndicate named the Manticore, who caused her parents' deaths. Taking on the title of Agent 308, Diana decides to get revenge.

She starts working under the Manticore leader Ettore Zani and his son Edo. However, the twist is that Edo wants to reform the Manticore and use it for peacekeeping purposes. Due to this, he joins Diana's cause and sees her as a true ally, even while Ettore suspects her motives.

Diana's sister, Sarah, starts suspecting what the former is doing since Diana pretends to have a finance job. On other fronts, the rivalry between agencies Citadel and Manticore grows, making Diana's position more precarious by the day. The show continually explores the question of whether she will be able to get the revenge that she seeks or fail in her duties as an agent.
