The Boys season 4 finale, which was released on July 18, 2024, showcased the titular group's effort to stop the shapeshifter who was tasked with assassinating Bob Singer. Episode 8 also saw Homelander and The Seven outing Victoria Neuman as a supe and cleaning house at Vought to rid the company of anyone that might have damaging evidence on them.

After Neuman told Homelander that his decision to have the former run for President of the USA might affect him, the leader of the Seven told Ashley to bring him a list of all the people that might have compromising information. While she obliged and brought him the list, Ashley soon learned that she was on the chopping block as well. In a last-ditch effort to save herself, she rushed into Homelander's room and shot herself up with Compound-V.

However, fans of the show have yet to learn what power Ashley will get. After shooting herself with the serum, she writhed in pain, causing her wig to fall off and reveal her bald head. As the Compound-V entered her bloodstream, it appeared to have a specific effect on her head, raising the possibility that Ashley might develop mind-related abilities in season 5.

While fans will only find out when the final season premieres in 2026, Ashley may gain telepathic or psychic abilities similar to Charles Xavier from the X-Men, as well as intelligence similar to Sister Sage's.

Exploring potential powers that Ashley might get in The Boys

Ashley in The Boys is a character who suffers from stress and self-esteem issues due to Homelander's demands. In season 3 of the show, it was revealed that she was slowly losing all her hair and had even gone bald. In season 4, when she took Compound-V, her head started to grow, which led to her cranium changing its shape.

After Sister Sage's entry into the Seven, Ashley felt that she wasn't smart enough to manage the team due to the former taking over. She was also made to feel that since she wasn't a supe, she couldn't be as intelligent as them either. Given this, her abilities could be mind-related.

In comic books, telepaths and those with intelligence-based superpowers are frequently depicted as having big heads. Perhaps in season 5 of The Boys, fans might see Ashley with similar abilities and an appearance mirroring that of Marvel's The Watcher. Her transformation could reveal her motivations for proving her worth after the Seven rejected her for being a lesser individual.

What can fans expect from Ashley in The Boys season 5?

With Ashley now having powers of her own, fans can expect her to gradually lose her mind, perhaps even further, and challenge the Seven. She even planned to leave Vought because she was already under stress from Homelander's schemes in The Boys season 4. Her abilities might just be the boost she needs.

The writers could also present a subversive plot in which Ashley finds redemption in the eyes of Homelander, as she is now a supe and one of a kind. However, given his psychopathic tendencies, things could go either way.

Fans can also expect her to not be associated with Vought going forward, as she certainly has burned all the bridges she had at the company. Those interested can currently stream the entirety of The Boys season 4 on Amazon Prime Video.
