Isaac Gonzalez Rossi has become a part of Showtime's new crime drama series Dexter: Original Sin as the flamboyant Gio Martini. The prequel series premiered on Showtime on December 13, 2024.

Dexter: Original Sin is set a few years before the events of Dexter, in 1991, Miami. It explores how Dexter dealt with his urges in his early years and developed his code with the help of his father, Harry Morgan.

The show spends more time developing the relationship that Dexter shared with his sister, Deborah Morgan. As Deb feels left out after her mother's passing, she turns to Gio for comfort.

Apart from Isaac Gonzalez Rossi, the show also stars Patrick Gibson, Christian Slater, Molly Brown, Christina Milian, and Sarah Michelle Gellar in prominent roles.

Isaac Gonzalez Rossi will be seen as Gio Martini in Dexter's prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin. The Cuban-American actor shared a post on his Instagram handle to express his gratitude for being a part of one of the most iconic television series of this century.

He wrote:

"What an unbelievable cast and crew! I am so honored to be able to say I shared the creative stage with you all. So proud to have worked with each and every one of you! It is one of the greatest joys of my life to be able to be a part of this incredible story."

Isaac Gonzalez Rossi has previously been part of several notable shows like Westworld and NCIS. His character was introduced in the fourth episode of the series which aired on December 27, 2024.

Gio comes from a wealthy family and doesn't shy from showing it. His charm wins over Deborah Morgan and the two are in a relationship by the fifth episode. As Deborah is feeling left out from the family after her mother's death, she is seen getting pulled towards Gio.

About Dexter: Original Sin

As mentioned before, the series is set in 1991 Miami and explores how Dexter turned into an avenging serial killer. While the show airs on Showtime, fans can also stream the episodes on Paramount+, a day later. Paramount's synopsis of the plot reads:

"Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness."

The series is a prequel to Dexter and Dexter: New Blood. Another series titled, Dexter: Resurrection is currently under production with Micheal C. Hall continuing as the titular character.
