Netflix just dropped the XO Kitty season 2 trailer, which promises romance, friendship, and heartbreak as Katherine "Kitty" Song Covey returns for the spring semester at the Korean International School of Seoul (KISS). The trailer also confirms the arrival of Peter Kavinsky, played by actor Noah Centineo.
Fans of the To All the Boys movie trilogy will remember that Peter is Lara Jean Covey's—Kitty's middle sister's—boyfriend. His arrival in the Netflix series is a pleasant surprise and ensures Kitty has a familiar face to confide in as she returns to KISS.
The XO Kitty season 2 trailer also reveals that Kitty is going to avoid matchmaking, drama, and meddling in her friend's lives as she focuses on studying and finding more information about her mother.
"Last semester ended with so much drama," Kitty says, "This semester, I have my priorities straight. I'm gonna hit the books and finally discover who my mom really was. I'm ready to launch Kitty 2.0."
XO Kitty season 2 is scheduled to release on January 16, 2025, on the streaming service.

Noah Centineo plays Peter Kavinsky in XO Kitty season 2
Peter was an important character in the To All the Boys movie trilogy. Although he and Lara started with a fake relationship in the original film, it turned out that they had feelings for each other. As their story progresses, they become a real couple.
Peter's arrival in season 2 of XO Kitty gives Kitty an ally as she navigates her complicated love life while juggling studies and investigating her mom, who went to the same school.
In the trailer, Peter reminds Kitty of who she is. He says:
"You are Kitty Song freakin' Covey. Don't you forget it."
XO Kitty season 2 trailer shows Kitty is back at KISS
Although Kitty was expelled from KISS last semester after the principal, Jina (also Yuri's mother), discovered that she was living in the boys' dormitory, it seems like Yuri's phone call to her mother helped reinstate her at KISS.
Kitty is not only back for a second semester but is determined to avoid drama and matchmaking for her friends as she focuses on her studies and finding information about her mom.
At the end of season 1, Kitty gets a letter from her mom, Eve, which reveals her first love interest was a man named Simon. In XO Kitty season 2, she will embark on a journey to find Simon.
Season 1 ended with Min Ho, thinking that he has nothing to lose since Kitty is going back to America, revealing that he had feelings for her. This is further complicated by the fact that Kitty has feelings for Yuri, her adversary-turned-friend.
Although the series began with Kitty studying at KISS to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, Dae, the two broke up in the finale.
Meanwhile, Dae has problems of his own to contend with. His scholarship at school is based on his stellar performance in academics. Unfortunately, Florian secured the top spot in the exam's results by cheating, calling into question Dae's scholarship status.
Fresh faces in XO Kitty season 2
Besides the main cast of season 1 returning in season 2, four new actors have been added to the ensemble.
Sasha Bhasin plays Praveena, Kitty's new love interest. Joshua Lee will play Jin who might be Q's love interest (based on speculation), and Audrey Huynh will play Stella, Kitty's new roommate. Phillippe Lee rounds the cast by playing Mr. Moon.
XO Kitty season 2, comprising 10 episodes, will be out on Netflix on January 16, 2025.
