The Acolyte episode 6 delved further into what Qimir seeks from Osha, and the outing saw him try to get her to turn to the Dark side. The episode primarily featured him convincing Osha that the ways of Jedi are flawed and that he is looking for a pupil of his own. However, when Osha asks him what it is he needs, Qimir replies by saying "the power of Two".

With The Acolyte episode 6 introducing The Power of Two, it could mean that the show is talking about the Sith rule of two that was introduced in Star Wars. The rule basically states that at a time only two Siths can exist, a master and an apprentice, and given that Qimir has been looking for an apprentice all this time, it certainly fits that he is chasing the rule itself.

What is the Sith rule of two?

The Sith rule of two was created by Darth Bane after the Sith nearly went extinct following the Jedi-Sith war. The concept was introduced so that the Sith could operate in secret, and the rule stated that only two Sith could exist at a time - a master who has mastered the Dark side of the force, and an apprentice who craves the power and trains under the master and is set to fulfill his role one day.

The Sith rule of two was spoken by Yoda in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace where he said:

"Always two, there are. No more. No less. A Master and an apprentice."

This was showcased by Emperor Palpatine training the new Sith lord Darth Maul under him, and then him taking in and corrupting Anakin Skywalker to join the Dark side after his death. However, in The Acolyte, Qimir could also be talking about the Doctrine of the Dyad, which was a predecessor to the rule of two.

The Doctrine of the Dyad focused on a Force Dyad, which meant two beings connected as one in the Force. The two beings shared an unbreakable bond, and it gave them unique powers as well within the Force. However, it remains to be seen exactly what Qimir meant given that there are two more episodes of The Acolyte still left.

What can fans expect from Qimir in The Acolyte?

Given that Qimir has been trying to gain a pupil and an acolyte for himself throughout the entire show, it's clear that he is trying to follow one of the Sith rules. In The Acolyte episode 4, Mae decided to betray him which made him switch his target towards Osha, and in episode 6 he tried convincing her to join the Dark side.

Knowing that Osha has a darkness within her now, fans can very well expect Qimir to try and capitalize on the darkness in the final two episodes of The Acolyte. It remains to be seen whether Osha herself will give in or not to the darkness, but it will certainly be interesting to see her fight it.

Alongside that, we can also expect to see a reveal regarding who Qimir's previous master was, and with the show hinting that it might be Vernestra Rwoh, fans can surely expect the final two episodes to be filled with revelations. The next episode of The Acolyte will air on July 9, 2024 on Disney+.
