After the confirmation at Comic-Con, the universe of The Boys gets a little more dense with a new prequel series, Vought Rising. This one is going to be a twistedly grim saga set in the 1950s that delves into the birth of Vought International.
Starring Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Stormfront, now known as Clara Vought, the show vows to explore Vought's early days and the dark beginnings of the superhuman organization. According to Eric Kripke, the series will have a twisted murder mystery at its core.
What to expect from The Boys spinoff Vought Rising?
Vought Rising whisks audiences away to the 1950s when the empire that is Vought International took off. Most of the series tells the story of Soldier Boy's early days, played by Jensen Ackles, and that of Clara Vought/Stormfront, played by Aya Cash.
The plot will reportedly focus on the early days of Compound V and how the corporation amasses power. More details are expected soon.
Who will be in the cast of The Boys spinoff Vought Rising?
Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Clara Vought, respectively. Ackles made his debut as Soldier Boy in The Boys Season 3.
Cash also returns, this time as the origin story of Stormfront—whose Nazi connections were exposed by the end of Season 2—as Clara Vought. Both actors will also serve as producers. Besides the returns of Ackles and Cash, Vought Rising will bring out new characters and actors.
Young Stan Edgar, the ambitious future CEO of Vought International, is to be portrayed in his younger years. Dr. Jonah Vogelbaum, the scientist who created Compound V, will be a key player in the series. The show also will feature a host of new characters who were part of the early experiments and Vought corporate machinations.
When to expect The Boys spinoff Vought Rising?
Eric Kripke and showrunner Paul Grellong will create Vought Rising, which marks the third spinoff for The Boys franchise, following the animated anthology series The Boys Presents: Diabolical and the college-set Gen V.
Development is in progress, with producers currently working on the script. While an official release date is not yet set, pre-production is underway for the show. With Gen V seasons coming up and the last season of The Boys, it still might be a while before we get to see Vought Rising on the screens.
