Dune: Prophecy episode 2 recap
In Dune: Prophecy episode 2, the Sisterhood is investigating the death of Kasha. However, Valya departs to Salusa Secundus when she learns of Pruwet Richese's passing under similar mysterious circumstances. Before leaving, she tells Tula to prepare Lila for the Agony so that she can access her grandmother Raquella's memories to learn about the reckoning.
On Salusa Secundus, the Imperium is in mourning, and Desmond admits his crimes to Corrino. He then swears loyalty to Corrino, but the Emperor makes him his prisoner. Corrino's wife, Natalya, suggests they should use Desmond to their advantage. Meanwhile, Duke Richese learns that his son's killer is being held as a prisoner.
He demands Corrino to talk to his son's killer and not protect him, or else he will use his fleets against the Imperium. Valya arrives just in time to calm the situation down. When brought face-to-face with Desmond, he reveals that he was a gift from Shai Hulud and aims to remove false truthsayers from the Emperor's ears.
Following this, Natalya talks to Desmond and asks him if he still is loyal. Duke Richese confronts Corrino again with threats. However, Corrino brings out Desmond, who starts burning the Duke from the inside. Instead of killing him, the Emperor wants this to serve him as a warning. Valya then runs into Desmond at the end and tries using the voice on him, asking him to kill himself, but her powers don't work on him.
Back on Wallach IX, Lila goes through the Agony and manages to meet her grandmother Raquella. She says that the key to the reckoning is someone born twice. However, Lila's mother finds her during the Agony and kills her to thwart the Sisterhood's plans. The episode ends with Tula heartbroken over Lila's loss.
