A preview for the season finale was released following the airing of Dune: Prophecy episode 5. The preview for the Dune: Prophecy season finale teased that fans will learn more about Desmond's past with Tula and why she had to give him away. This certainly confirms the fact that he is Tula and Orry Atreides' son.

Aside from that, Desmond is seen doubting Emperor Corrino, as his affair with Sister Francesca has influenced him. With Desmond no longer in the Emperor's ear anymore, he is likely to lose power. Fans can also expect to discover the true nature of the Reckoning in the show.

Recap of Dune: Prophecy episode 5

The episode begins with Valya calling Sister Francesca to Salusa Secundus. She instructs her to influence Corrino and ensure that Ynez reaches Wallach IX while also securing a position for her son, Constantine, in the Imperium. Simultaneously, Valya delivers the rebellion's location to Desmond Hart after commanding Harrow to do so.

As Desmond starts cracking down on the rebellion, Keiran Atreides sets off an explosion, hoping it will kill Desmond. However, he survives. On the other hand, Constantine figures out Keiran's betrayal and arrests him. Impressed, the Emperor grants him the command of the Imperium's fleet.

Back on Wallach IX, Sister Lila awakens but is soon taken over by Mother Raquella. She investigates the key behind the reckoning, leading them to find a virus. However, when Tula receives Desmond's blood sample and runs it through the genetic codex, it is revealed that he is her son.
