The popular animated series, Arcane, premiered its first season between November 6 and 20, 2021, on Netflix. The show returned for its second and final season on November 9, 2024, and concluded on November 23, 2024.
Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, the series is based on the characters from the League of Legends video game by Riot Games. Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce, and Viktor are among the main characters on the show. Moreover, Viktor's accent stands out in the series as it sounds more Central European than the other characters.
The show's official logline, as per Netflix, reads:
"Amid the stark discord of twin cities Piltover and Zaun, two sisters fight on rival sides of a war between magic technologies and clashing convictions."
Everything to know about Viktor's accent in Arcane
Viktor is one of the most pivotal characters in Arcane as he drives the story forward with his own transformation journey. He partnered with Jayce Talis, the Piltover scientist, to create the powerful Hextech technology. After he merged with Hexcore at the start of Arcane season 2, he possessed magical healing powers and dreamt of freeing humanity from all its suffering.
In addition to his distinct storyline in the series, Viktor also sounded very different from the rest of the characters on the hit Netflix show. The English actor Harry Lloyd, who voiced Viktor, revealed in November 2024 that he used a "bad Czech accent" to bring the character to life.

Plot summary
The story of Arcane is set in the sister cities of Piltover and Zaun, who are at war with each other. Piltover is a thriving city boasting the latest advancements in technology, while Zaun is the oppressed undercity grappling with poverty, crime, and pollution.
After losing their parents in the fight for Zaun's freedom, the sisters Vi and Jinx are raised by Vander. With time, the sisters become more estranged and find themselves fighting on opposite sides of the ongoing war. Vi aligns herself with Piltover, while Jinx leads the revolution in Zaun.
Moreover, the budding Piltover scientist, Jayce Talis, develops the Hextech by combining arcane magic with the latest technology. His partner in the invention is Viktor, a disabled scientist and assistant to Piltover's founder, Professor Heimerdinger.
After Viktor gets fatally injured in an attack from Zaun, he is revived with the help of Hexcore. The unstable technology transforms his body completely, giving him magical healing powers. Viktor turns into a messianic-like figure and goes about healing the sick and afflicted population of Zaun.
He endeavors to remove all suffering from the world by creating a utopian existence with human-machine hybrids, which he considers to be the next step in human evolution. However, Jayce stops his former friend from executing his evil plan after witnessing the world's dire fate in an alternate timeline.
