Episode 5 of What We Do in the Shadows season 6 premiered on FX on November 4, 2024, continuing the storyline from episode 4 involving Nandor and Guillermo. In the previous episode, Nandor, known as Andy the janitor, was fired from Cannon Capital Strategies by Guillermo, who explained that the company was downsizing.
In the latest episode of What We Do in the Shadows season 6, Nandor was eager to take revenge on Cannon Capital. He raised his army to that effect and planned for warfare. However, by the end of the episode, Nandor was dissuaded by the other vampires and he gave up his lofty ambitions of war and commanded his army to raid the nearest university instead and irritate the nerds there.
What We Do in the Shadows season 6 episode 5 ending: Nandor will not go to war, after all
As the episode opened, the Staten Island vampires were looking for Nandor who has gone missing for days. They shouted out his name, pasted posters about him, and checked every corner of the house. They blamed Guillermo’s humiliating treatment of Nandor for the latter’s disappearance.
However, the Baron called them up and informed them that Nandor’s voice had been tracked from a location in New Hampshire. It turned out that Nandor has become something of a Colonel Kurtz (there are numerous Apocalypse Now references strewn across the episode, albeit as parody). The Baron asked the vampires to go and bring him back.

Nandor has devised his own Occupy Wall Street plan
Nandor was hiding out at Hancock & Sons, a company recently acquired by Cannon, where many employees had been laid off. He had persuaded them to join him in a war against Cannon. Laszlo, always the thinker, suggested they should go along with Nandor's militant ideas, believing it would help restore normalcy over time. Meanwhile, Nandor saw Guillermo as the enemy, so he was excluded from Laszlo's plan.

Guillermo saves the day, as usual
Like in the previous seasons, in What We Do in the Shadows season 6 too, Guillermo often emerged as the person who eventually got the job done, even though he was but a mortal man with no superpowers. In this episode, fed up with Laszlo’s plan of indulging Nandor’s fantasies, Guillermo confronted the vampire directly.
The two old friends had a lengthy conversation in which they openly expressed their thoughts and complaints. By the end of this poignant yet funny exchange, Guillermo managed to convince Nandor that he should seek a new purpose elsewhere, rather than waging wars against his former employer.
The end of episode 6 showed that Nandor did not have a real army. He eventually ordered them to give up the war against Cannon, and instead go to the nearest university and disturb the nerds therein.

Episode 5 shows Nandor and Guillermo at their candid best
Initially, Nandor was displeased with Guillermo and did not want him around. However, as What We Do in the Shadows season 6 episode 5 progressed, the two friends reconciled emotionally.
This season of the series will be its last, and Nandor and Guillermo’s conversation created a fair bit of nostalgia in the fans' minds. The two recounted their respective experiences to each other. Nandor was still hurt by the fact that Guillermo always wanted to be a vampire, and then became one with the help of someone else, only to give it up to become human again.
He was also hurt by how Guillermo had fired him. Guillermo explained to his old friend that this is how the modern world works. He urged Nandor not to hold a grudge and to seek a new purpose elsewhere. The episode clearly showed that their friendship was not easily broken.
What’s happening with Laszlo and Nadja?
One of the recurrent issues What We Do in the Shadows season 6 has dealt with is the fact that Laszlo is not particularly a fan of Nadja’s going out into the human world and working. She, in turn, does not like how her husband thinks this is something he can be offended by.
While walking down the street to buy firecrackers for Nandor, Nadja becomes angry and violent when discussing her job. She insists that her work makes her happy and poses no risk. When Laszlo fails to understand, she pushes him against a car.
Despite their arguments, Laszlo and Nadja are best friends. They soon make up and, in true vampire style, rob a nearby store to steal firecrackers.
The next episode of What We Do in the Shadows season 6 will be released on November 11, 2024.
