Episode 9 of What We Do in the Shadows season 6, titled Come Out and Play, was released on FX on December 2, 2024. The latest episode of the comedy horror mockumentary series is full of adventures that put the Staten Island vampires in grave danger.
The episode starts with Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja remarking that Baron Afanas is going to be given the Life Achievement Award at a function later that evening for his service to the vampires’ cause. However, during the awards ceremony, Laszlo’s monster goes rogue and ends up murdering Jerry.
The other vampires start hunting for the Staten Island vampires so they can kill them. However, thanks to Guillermo’s timely intervention, the vampires are safe by the end of What We Do in the Shadows season 6 episode 9.

What We Do In The Shadows season 6 episode 9 ending: The vampires are safe
During the Baron’s award ceremony, all communities of vampires gather to honor the legendary vampire. Jerry, the imperialist vampire, hosts the event. However, Jerry starts questioning the Baron’s ability to lead the vampires in their quest to bring more and more of humanity under their dominion.
As Jerry throws one uncomfortable question after the other at the Baron, Nadja wades in to protect the latter. Laszlo’s monster, however, is less subtle; he stomps onto the stage and yanks out Jerry’s head and displays it like a trophy.
The other vampires now go after the Staten Island vampires since a monster created by one of them has just killed a formidable vampire. Nandor and company run into these vampires and try their best to hide from them. Eventually, Colin calls Guillermo.
Like in the previous seasons, Guillermo is the one with the solutions in What We Do in the Shadows season 6 as well. He arrives at a bar where his friends were waiting and brings his friend Miguel along with him. Thanks to Guillermo’s timely arrival, the vampires reach Staten Island safely in his car.

Nadja and Laszlo fight in this episode as well
Several times in What We Do in the Shadows season 6, Nadja and Laszlo have fought with each other. Their altercation in this episode results from the fact that Laszlo admits to having created the monster so it can protect Nadja when he is gone.
Nadja is insulted by the thought that she needs to be protected by someone or something and that she is not enough to defend herself. She is initially quite angry with Laszlo, but when the latter expresses his love for his wife sweetly, she gives in and tells him that she does not need his protection; his love and care will suffice.

Guillermo was not invited to the ceremony
When the vampires deck up and prepare to leave, Guillermo asks them where they are going. They are curt with him, reminding him how he chose the human life over the vampire life, and hence he is not allowed to attend the Baron’s awarding ceremony.
Hurt, Guillermo goes to play baseball with one of his childhood buddies. This catching up session is not very pleasant, and Guillermo remembers why they fell off in the first place.
Just when he is about to leave, he gets Colin’s call. Thus, Guillermo, who was not even allowed to go to the party, ironically ends up saving his friends when they are in a fix.

The Baron shows who is the boss
The Baron remarks towards the end of What We Do in the Shadows season 6 that he knew the event was merely an eyewash, and Jerry was trying to stage a coup against him. He is angry with Laszlo’s creature since the Baron wanted to kill Jerry himself.
However, he now wants to set things right. Thus, he calls the vampires to assemble once again the next day. In that event, he announces his plan to conquer more and more lands.
He also solves the problem of insubordination: the questioning vampires have their heads yanked out by the monster. Soon, there are no more questioning vampires since they are cornered into compliance.
