Bad Sisters is an Irish dark comedy based on the 2012 Belgian series Clan. Created by Sharon Horgan, Crett Baer, and Dave Finkel, it follows the Garvey sisters—Grace, Eva, Bibi, Ursula, and Becka.
Their lives take a dark turn when Grace's abusive husband dies unexpectedly, and the sisters are suspected of murder to collect his life insurance. The series shows the sisters reuniting to support each other and find freedom. The first season premiered on August 19, 2022, and received positive reviews.
The series was renewed for a second season on Apple TV+ on November 13, 2022. After a two-year interval, Bad Sisters season 2 will hit the screens on November 13, 2024. Most of the scenes in the series are primarily shot across Ireland, specifically around Dublin and Northern Ireland.

1) Forty Foot, Sandycove, County Dublin, Ireland
In a GQ article published on October 7, 2022, Sharon Horgan, one of the creators of Bad Sisters, described her experience of shooting the Christmas swim in Forty Foot. She conceived the idea while on a vacation visit with her sister-in-law. She realized the story could be crafted in a way that the Garveys, too, have memories of visiting the place with their parents as children.
Located at the southern tip of Dublin Bay, Sandycove, this raised mass of land, right at the of the Irish Sea, is a popular tourist destination. This has been a sacred swimming spot for Irish people for more than two centuries.
2) Malahide and Howth, County Dubin, Ireland
Malahide is a coastal community located 9 miles from Dublin City. Surrounded by suburbs and historical monuments like the Malahide Castle, this place has been used to film the pedestrian streets in Bad Sisters. This is one of the places Matthew and Becka have their dates and are often seen walking on the Malahide Marina.
Howth is an Irish village that shares a significant role in Irish History. Located at the northern boundary of Dublin Bay, the place is known for its coastal natural scenery. A human settlement since prehistoric times, Howth has been a part of Old Norse and Irish mythology.
3) Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland
Warrenpoint is a port town in Northern Ireland, known for its scenic beauty and open festivals, including the Blues on the Bay music festival and the Maiden of Mourne festival. Nearby to the town, there is a 16th-century historic castle named Narrow Water Castle. Tourists can take a passenger ferry service to pay a visit. Visitors can also make a trip to its nearby places villages, including Omeath and Rostrevor.
4) County Wicklow, Ireland
Many aerial shots and natural landscapes in Bad Sisters have been taken in the County of Wicklow. Located on the borders of the Irish Sea, this settlement dates back to the 16th century. Wicklow derived its name from Old Norse, which means Vikings' Meadow.
Some major tourist destinations around this place and the county town of Wicklow include Glendalough Cathedral, Powerscourt Waterfall, Powerscourt House & Gardens, Killruddery House & Gardens, Wicklow Mountains National Parks, Beyond the Trees Avondale, and Wicklow Historic Gaol.
In the same GQ interview with Sharon Horgan, she said the team did some of its filming in parts of London, especially for John Paul's, in Northern Ireland for Bibi's house, which also involved the coastal town of Skerries.
